  1. Some more images of 1980's city traders letting their hair down...or up should I say.
  2. I think looking back what Jaguar may have attempted, was to draw some parallel to the New Romantic movement in the 1980s. Colourful, odd, androgynous. In the 1980s New Romantics was to a large degree seen as a pro-Thatcher right wing movement, aspirational, and the antithesis to anti-establishment Punks. Jaguar got it wrong in so many different ways, but the main one being, that the right wing of today wouldn't be caught dead dressing like this, and the left wing hasn't got any money. Duran Duran's Rio music video looks like it's been made by Jaguar's current team. The difference being in the 1980's people seemingly weren't having conniption's about dayglow jackets.
  3. I know you were mate, it wasn't a dig at you, I was just using it as a vehicle (pardon the pun) to maybe pose a question mark as to whether or not as a society are regressing, as to things we find shocking or challenging.
  4. Yep, crazy...or maybe Bond could wrestle in bed, and be over powered by an muscular androgynous looking black women...AND seem to like it!!??? Oh wait a minute...Crap...This already happened 1985!!!!! The world's gone mad! Personally I'm absolutely disgusted, and feel massively let down by the whole of Broccoli family...and Pinewood Studios...and especially Oddjob! An absolute diabolical liberty.
  5. That's definitely one way of putting it. People are trying to weigh up the calculous of their potential investments, against the backdrop of events past, present and potential futures. For me it's much more simple personal calculous, and I find it eternally depressing that it isn't that way for the rest of society. Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and Curtis Yarvin are all eugenicists, racist, misogynist despots and I wouldn't give them the steam off my p*ss. I may be poorer financially for doing so, but I would not trade that for how I would feel about myself. Much like if there was a horse at the races called 'Enochs White Power Pony'. or 'Pol Trot'. I would not be betting on it. Incidentally do Geopolitical misteps look a bit like this?
  6. Strong "Man from Milktray" vibes,
  7. The choose from list leaves me a little cold. In a Monte, I would love to see: - Monte Butifarra - Monte Fundy - Monte Ninfas - Monte Invictos (old Fonseca size - Monte Corona Gorda But I know who sits on the throne.
  8. I will try and put it into words how i understand the use of 'Twang' in terms of CC. Firstly why does "tang" not quite do it in terms of a descriptive? Well...I think tang solely refers to a sourness or acerbic quality and that's why it feels a little reductive, and doesn't fully reflect whats happening on the palate. I think it's important to go back and acknowledge what the world 'Twang' means 1. A strong ringing sound such as that made by the plucked string of a musical instrument or a released bowstring. I think the highly unusual adoption of the word "twang" by those passionate about cigars leads back to it's more orthodox descriptor as a sound. Can a flavour vibrate or resonate on the palate? FOH members in the past have sometimes referred to a "fizziness" on the palate. I think what's happening is a combination of a creaminess and a sourness happening at the same time, creating a odd sort of harmonic resonance and juxtaposition. A bit like if you've ever been served a fruit salad and someone offers you pouring cream to put in it. It kind of works and the flavour is pleasant, but at the same time your aware the acid it curdling the cream. The science is saying "Nooooooo". but the brain is saying "Yeeeeeeees" This to me is when cigars become truly great. When sensory contrasting flavours get put together that shouldn't work...but magically do. This is also why I find Punch cigars to be king of "Twang". Fruit+sourness+creaminess...it makes the magic happen. Just my take.
  9. Today's winner of the internet.
  10. Congratulations @griller and @EMC12, thats some effort, incredibly impressive
  11. I desperately want to like the Monty 1, it should be my wheelhouse, but lemon and chocolate, is like fingernails down a chalkboard for me. If the Especial is already in the first four, then it has to be the Petit Edmundo. a hugely successful release, powerful, rich, satisfying, and amped up Montecristo blend, whilst still remaining balanced, and smooth.
  12. Happy Canada Day...big respect from the UK.
  13. Completely with you on this. Smoking through a 2024 box at the moment. They are rich, sweet, bready, true to marca. well rolled. Punches well above it's weight on a sliding scale in the CC portfolio.
  14. Could be useful, if for some reason you found yourself being hunted by Predator...Oh wait...Sh*t no don't follow that advice.
