El Presidente Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 This was the standout cigar of the Habanos Festival back in February. I will get my first chance to try one when they arrive next week. I must say that the pricing surprised me (not in a good way). For those that know what these are being retailed for elsewhere shoot me a PM just so that I know I am not seeing things.
bunburyist Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 oh man those look great. Why do I have a weakness for Trinis....?
canucks6024 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 how many are in one of those boxes? looks like 12?
bunburyist Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 how many are in one of those boxes? looks like 12? Trinidads normally come in boxes of 12 or 24.
sandholm Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 how many are in one of those boxes? looks like 12? As i understand they exist in both 12 and 24 boxes, and they are pricey. Rob I send you an email with the prices here in Switzerland (regular store prices), insane. One major store had only purchased two boxes, and sold none... guess that's a good indicator for the price. cheers
bunburyist Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 One major store had only purchased two boxes, and sold none... guess that's a good indicator for the price.cheers Surely they'll be a good 10% less than the Robusto Extras though....?
Guest rob Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 If the pricing is as insane as I believe it to be.... and not that I want to wish any retailers ill... but I hope they dont sell. HSA needs to learn a lesson and I hope we as consumers teach them.
sandholm Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Surely they'll be a good 10% less than the Robusto Extras though....? I wont mention the price, but the differences between the Robusto Extras and the T (box of 12) is around SFs 50... cheers
sounddust Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Personally, I will always go for a similarly priced Cohiba instead. Also, tricky packaging.
aavkk Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I cant believe that they would come out at a similar price point to Cohiba. The reyes are 15-20% cheaper than Siglo I's, the Robusto Extras are 15-20% cheaper than Siglo VI's... why arent the Trini T's being released 15-20% cheaper than the CORO? Im all about grabbing the original release but come on, will they be that much better than the 08 CORO's?
SethG Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Why would the boxes show the old style tax stamp? Because the box code is from May 08! So bizarre!
PigFish Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Priced like a gift from God; worth little more than the Coloniales. How many ways can H SA spell stupid? With Ingenios (ahhumm, and EL from 07) still around how can one rationalize this? "Honey forget the coffee... better make it bourbon!"
habanohal Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Priced like a gift from God; worth little more than the Coloniales. How many ways can H SA spell stupid? They will sell a few but for the prices they want, I will not be buying ny along with alot others I believe. And I was really looking forward to these for quite a while, but if prices arent around the $250 a box range, then I will be smokeing something else
Habanos2000 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 oh man those look great. Why do I have a weakness for Trinis....? I feel the same way. I just WANT to love the Trinidad line, but they don't deliver the goods. Even if this one does, I can find smokes that make me happy for much less. Too bad HSA.
RLinNH Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The price is what's keeping this Trine ***** away. I'll stick to the rock solid Reyes and my 1 98 Fundy a Year for now Thank You.
Buch0 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 A review on these would be great.. Deciding whether the price is justifiable on these Trini's is proving a hard task at this point.
sandholm Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Surely they'll be a good 10% less than the Robusto Extras though....? They are exact 10% less then the Cohiba Robusto....
Warren Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Rob is this your subtle way of saying ca ching ca ching.
chungair Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 just smoked one straight out of the box. fantastic cigar!!! smooth and creamy are the two words that came straight to my mind. aroma is not necessarily that great but the taste is fantastic. definitely a 90+ smoke. well worth the money and better than the cohiba robusto. i would encourage everyone to try one.
cabaiguan juan Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I thought the T came in a tube. Is that not the case?
chungair Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Just arrived in Singapore. Cracked opened my June'09 box and smoked one immediately. Smooth and Creamy comes to my palette right off the bat. I am in love. Middle third: the smoke becomes stronger and more complex. So far, perfect burn and easy draw.... Last third: nice and mellow without losing the creaminess.... Simply fantastic. I prefer this stick over the cohiba robusto because i prefer a creamy smoke. Highly recommended.
Van55 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Re: packaging I saw these listed on one site as available in boxes of 24 and six-packs of an AT version.
El Presidente Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 AT's are gorgeous Van but not released as yet. I understand a certain Italian Tube Supplier stoped supply of all tubes until he saw some Euro's
