sounddust Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I believe I have just found my ideal mix of reviewers.
Ken Gargett Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 the lesson there is never walk away from the camera.
Colt45 Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Thanks for the review guys I've an '06 cabinet in deep storage that I'm looking forward to sampling from - some day.
CigarZen Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 "A legend of a cigar." Agreed, one of the best -- and at regular prices.
terrantheman Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 awesome review and hysterical bunch of blokes!
Bolismoker Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Great review of an all time classic. Thanks fellas
greenpimp Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Great review guys. One of my all time favorite cigars. Used to be this cigar would blow your head off young. Not so much anymore, eh? Still, love the profile even if more medium now, and hope to pick up aother cab. Though I discovered I have 5 boxes when I reorganized my cabinet. Oh and my '04s still STINK.
El Presidente Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Great job Smithy That was an enjoyable afternoon. The BCE certainly performed to expectations.
CigarmanTim Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I'm a bit of a Boli fan...somehow the BCE has escaped me. Perhaps my next purchase. Thank you guys for another great review.
shrink Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Bravo, boys! A good honest review of a good, honest cigar. Rob, I also have both the dress box and cab versions from the same era, and agree that there is a subjective difference. Bought a 2006 DB, and after smoking ONE, immediately grabbed a cab. Then bought a FEB07 cab, which I haven't even cracked. I don't believe that they segregate cigars according to DB and Cab, but there's something about the way a cigar ages in a cab that seems to intensify the flavor profile. Frankly, the CE has become my favorite Bolivar vitola, though I sampled an DIC07 BBF ROTT that impressed me. It was "juicy", and I don't mean like Lucy!
Guest RobertU Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Great review! Just smoked one this past week and loved it. I'm still fairly new to Cubans, but this one had a profile I really enjoyed.
Olblue Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Sooo, when Smitty was describing "a bit of nutty character", was he talking about the cigar or the group as a whole?
Warren Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I have just bought a box of these and can't wait to try one. Actually this is my very first box of cigars, I have always just bought singles in the past. I can see a humidor upgrade coming in the future.

Guest rob Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I slipped on that same slope... and my wallet has been herniated ever since.
Warren Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I just fired one up today. Fanfriggintastic , I'll have to keep a stock of these.
CigarmanTim Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 "for god's sake you're a drunk." lol about spit out my coffee out on that one.... good review.
Boston Mike Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Great review guys! With 6 years on a BCE they are INSANE!
gwags Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Dammitt! Every time I watch these reviews I end up spitting my drink either on the keyboard or the screen!! Keep it up gents, love feeling almost as I was sitting there with you.
FireDigger Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Thanks for the review guys! This is one of the few current production cigars I have not tried, but will be at the top of the list.
RLinNH Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Sorry about the delay but what are you going to do? Thanks for the review!!! One of my Favorites as I have one Cab frm 05 partially Smoked, and 2 more Cabs that are Sleeping. A Classic Cigar IMHO.
cigaraholic Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I was jonesing for a Bolivar so I opened a box TEB OCT07, finally made a match. What a great cigar, opened with loads of coffee, chocolate and roasted nuts and just keep getting more and more powerful. I had moved 4 to a desktop and after I smoked the second I put the other two back in the box, monsters that need more time. I agree with Ken, 4 or 5 years will really smooth out these beauties. Then I realized I have another box, life is good.
bassman Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I'm smoking SEP 02s while waiting on my 07s. The 02s are smooth, earthy & very strong.
