Jimmy2 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 All joking around the Edge is the most sold cigar in the US that was what i was told and not from Rocky about 2 years ago .All joking aside as some here only read some of the posts we write here and not the whole thread. He is one of the hardest working men in the Cigar biz he travels all over the country promoting his cigars and is rarely home.I was also invite to go see his operation where he grows his tobacco and makes the cigars which was nice of him.
Stalebread Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Does he really sell the most cigars in the US? More than Fuente, or Ashton, or Padron? Does anyone know what those numbers are? I always thought Macanudo was the best selling (premium) brand in the US. I've never heard which is the best selling individual cigar. Could very well be Rocky's The Edge, as Jimmy says.
laficion Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I have tried his 92 vintage and to by honest, I couldn't finish them, really bad. When he said that cigars don't age well flavor wise, That's true, His cigars are proving that point . Goes to show he's not always wrong.
Stalebread Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 It's not like he didn't know he was being filmed. He just wants you to know he's a powerful man.. . . That's gotta be it. My first thought was why would anyone allow himself to be filmed behaving like that. Let alone having it on You Tube. Could the whole thing have been staged?
anacostiakat Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I met him yesterday. Seems like a nice guy. The shop was crowded for a special on his lines. At least it was while I was there and his product was moving briskly FWIW. Not a fan of his stuff. Probably the ones I liked the most out of the few I have tried are the Autumn Blend (too mild) and the Sun grown. But honestly I don't buy them. I smoked one while I was there to support my local but I didnt finish it.
Colt45 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Could the whole thing have been staged? That was my thought - I took it as a joke.
chrisguinther Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Could we send Rocky a copy of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" courtesy of FOH?
Habanos2000 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 That was my thought - I took it as a joke. I concur, it's staged.
Shelby07 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 This was pretty funny. I grew up on the east coast (New Jersey) where this kind of banter is common and no one thinks much of it. It's hard to understand for folks who have never lived it, but in certain parts of the country this is just normal conversation.
Jimmy2 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 I thought it was a joke all along too you gents are correct as i agree too i think it was staged. Can you believe Rocky use to date Salma Hayek i think they broke up when she tasted his cigar !!!
sounddust Posted April 4, 2009 Author Posted April 4, 2009 "i think they broke up when she tasted his cigar !!!"
yahhn Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 not a fan of that kind of management style. they should tell him to f-off.
habanablue Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Regardless of whether or not it was staged, throwing away the cigar like that shows you what he thinks of his brand...and I'm guessing that they are only smoking Rocky Patels...if the boss chucks the cigar away like that he doesn't value the cigars...
