yossie Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 You should eat kangaloo and camel first. Because Koala is too pretty!
Colt45 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 The creatures of Australia are amazing. It's unreal what you can see during a drought or full moon. (or is it star wars convention) » » » » » »

Fuzz AI Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 i wonder if it was at one of the zoos/animal places holding them? According to my friend, the little fella was hiding under their verandah. She put the tub of water out and after a few drinks, just climbed right on in. Yossie, we already eat roo here. We had a TV commercial a couple months back claiming we're the only country that eats the animals on our national coat of arms (roo and emu).
Ken Gargett Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I see. Is roo tasty? yoss, depends very much on the cut but it is extremely healthy - considered the most healthy of all meats. the crazy thing in australia is that we have sent non-native cows all over the country. they tend to make a mess of the vegetation they eat, whereas roos eat grass etc in such a manner that doesn't inhibit regrowth. we would have been infinitely better off in so many ways, if we had cultivated the roo industry. i'm very much against just going out and slaughtering them for fun but there are so many at times, culls are necessary and if things had been done differently, we could have a thriving industry providing roo meat to the world i would think that if you went to a good butcher in japan, or perhaps upmarket supermrket or deli, they would be able to sell you roo meat.

bolivr Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hot, you bet. We had 3 days of 43c (110F) in a row. We have a small bird bath in the yard, made sure it was always full and had all sorts of birds come in that normally we don't see. And a possum. Might have been a refuge from that whopping great python up north....
Trevor2118 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 not yet...but the recession is just starting Yos, you are being led up the garden path
Jay Hemingway Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 hey i want one!!!!! can you have these fellas as a pet over there? he could sit back and relax with me while smoking a habano and sipping on some fine wines. lol would have to put a hat on him too! lol like one of those hats the fuente family are always wearing! that would be my new buddy for sure.
PigFish Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Cute pic. Wildlife can find the damnedest places to find a home!
Ginseng Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Cute! But I heard that they're not good eating because their flesh smells of the eucalyptus. Any truth to that? Wilkey
Guest rob Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Wilkey, unless one has indigenous exemption... eating one of these will land you in jail.
