We now know that the 2008 Mag 50's and Sir Winstons are very good, and may have enormous potential and/or promise, as Rob would say.

Prez, Ken and Smithy: how about reviews of the early '08 Mag 46 and No. 2? Wouldn't want to miss these if they're anywhere near as good as their larger siblings.

Agreed, love pretty much everything Upmann and seems like the 46 goes through cycles. I have an 07 with a very light/tan wrapper, and an 08 that is dark maduro.

In addition, I think the VR line is one most newbs like myself are pretty unfamiliar with, so seeing the guys add VR into the rotation would be great as well.

We are happy to accomodate. Keep in mind we are limite to two video reviews per week but we can schedule this for next week as this weeks reviews are already in place.

So many cigars...so little time

i just get told what we are smoking but if we are doing the mag 46, i'd suggest we match it with another say 2 years old. always think these need at least that and before then, can be very uninspiring.

Ordinarily I would agree, but with the Mag 50 and SW smoking beautifully so young, who knows?

shrink, good point. has anyone noticed an improvement in mag 46's in their early days? if so, are you thinking a deliberate change in blend?

Perhaps a change in blend (I've never tasted an Upmann with the profile of the Mag 50), but I do believe that the use of aged fillers is resulting in cigars that are much more approachable than in the past. Upmann has always had the reputation of being a cigar that needs years of maturation, not only to be at its best, but to be worth smoking at all. Your experience with the 2008 Sir Winston (and with the Mag 50) contradicts that. So, I was curious to know if other 2008 Upmanns, such as the No. 2, Mag 46, and Conn #1 are also unexpectedly "ready to rock". Inquiring minds gots to know.

do you have any idea how hard it is to get smithy to edit these properly. first go is ten minutes of him preening himself in front of the camera. over the enxt few days, it gradually gets adjusted.

smithy, when you come to do today's, you know i was only joking (will you be wearing your wiggles shirt again?)
