I think Arlo Guthrie would like that.

The big defense contractors making billions of dollars of unnecessary weapons won't.

I'd rather spend the money on education, cleaning up our environment for furture generations to enjoy, finding alternative energy sources to get us off of foreign oil, cancer research, preventing catastrophic climate change, putting people to work rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and instituting an affordable healthcare system that emphasizes preventative medicine.

And let's get Bin laden.

PRIORITIES.

Yes I for one believe we should DOUBLE our nuclear spending. There just aren't enough nuclear weapons. And there hasn't been a nuclear war, so they work, right? LOL.

We should stay in Iraq indefinitely, raise our military spending to double our paltry 600 billion. Why not. Don't we spend about half what the entire WORLD spends on "war?" That's just not enough. We can do better.

"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes … known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.… No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare." -James Madison, 1795

The fact that Obama "frightens" so many people frightens me. Gimme a break.

You nailed it right there, bro. That's the elephant in the room. It's only gonna get worse too. Though what is worse than being called the Antichrist, huh?

I confess that I have always wanted a "nuke" of my own. Not a massive megatonic city buster, just a little tactical nuke in my garage that I can look at and fondle when I'm feeling weak and impotent.

There's a reason my neighbors are so nice to me, Bob. When you make it down south again I'll show you. It looks a lot like a compressor to a kid's bounce house, but don't be fooled.

And it's IMPORTANT, not IMPOTENT. Jeez what a Freudian slip. Or is it a Jungian fall.

War is dirty business...No such thing as fighting a politically correct war. it is, what it is and we have to deal with it.

And to save even more money on top of the billions we'll save cutting nukes and pulling out of iraq, lets cut the trillions in aid we hand out each year and put it all towards national security.

The terrorists are not going away and It's only a matter of time before something like 9-11 happens again. :-|

I'm afraid I didn't hear anything in that message about disarming the US. I heard talk of spending more wisely on things that will help the people of America find their way back from the knee jerk excesses of the Bush years.

I'm Australian but I'm married to an American and I have friends and relations in the US so I don't look on the US with any anti sentiment.

I do see that the US could do a lot more for it's own people in terms of health care that won't break the bank. I can't see that spending more on nukes will help anyone inside or outside of the US.

I also think that only a fool believes that the color of a man's skin excludes him from leading his country into better days for all.

I love America and it's people but I want the rest of the world to love you also.

Dead on. I think many of those who say in public that they have no problem voting for an African-American presidential candidate will act differently once they're in the voting booth and have to pull the lever (kind of like Caucasians who say they have no problem with interracial dating until their daughther brings home a black guy).

Or, as in my case, they just don't agree with Obama's positions.

I didn't mean to suggest that everyone who votes for McCain is a racist. Many of Obama's positions are troublesome (e.g., his fealty to labor unions, the certainty that taxes will increase dramatically if he wins, his suggestion that the US dramatically increase its UN contributions). I only meant to point out that what someone believes they will do in theory, and what they actually do when it's time to act, can be quite different.

I'll Second that!

You bet!

Exactly...if Obama was a white guy named Jim Bob Smith, McCain would lose by double digits.

Oh, and about the video, you're right it was scary. I mean, we should pump hundreds of billions more into defense so we can have the greatest and most feared military in the world. Oh wait.....we already do. Ask the average Israeli citizen how safe they feel with the best military in the Mid East while they are ducking to avoid incoming rockets. Believing that bigger guns, and more of them, will keep us safe is the same naiveness that has made Bush's foreign policy the biggest disaster in America since Vietnam.

Finally a leader not a follower.

Someone who is willing to speak plain truth.

Makes sense to me. Stop spending hundreds of dollars on hammers to make defense contractors rich.

He's not talking about making us unsafe, not talking about eliminating defense spending, he's talking about being smart and accountable. Spending money wisely.

No more unilateral bullying which has never worked in the past.

Stop the insanity.

Change the actions which this country has been taking the last 8 years that have undermined the things that made this country great.

I wish there were more open discussion about this. But too many people got rich on these programs and the spin doctors want everyone to believe we are on the brink of Armageddon.

Listen to what he really said not what you would like try to hate him for saying.

We all have to be accountable in our lives so should the government.

Time that we stop scaring people into believing things (remember the WMV) so that the government can make a few people rich.

The truth of the matter is that the President has very little, if any, control over most of these things. This is in the hands of Congress for the most part.
