Tampa1257 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 i can tell you from experience that a fedex account out of the US can't be used to ship something from here. This is NOT absolutely correct. I have to send documents to other countries, within the past month, Hungary and Estonia as an example via FedEx. Once those documents arrive, my clients have to sign them and then Return them via FedEx back to me here in the US by using my FedEx account number. If you have an International Air Waybill from your Company, you can send it already filled out to be "returned" to you in Japan with your FedEx Account number already pre-printed on the form. All the USA Sender would need to do is complete the value protion for customs and duties. The form is the exact same form you would send a customer that needed to return the package back to you using your acct number.

I am guessing attrition must be high as they just want to get you off the phone - frankly not sure they cant tell their ass from their elbow ... and i am not talking about the drivers (they do a great job), mostly the folks taking the calls ... Seems to becoming a common trait in customer service ... except at FOH>
El Presidente Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Bruce it is a city to city/state to state thing. As you know we sell ORIS Swiss Watches and when there is warranty work to be completed we normally have it done back here in OZ. 8 times out of 10 the client can use our FEDEX account to ship back. The rest of the time the local US FEDEX operation simply refuses. It can be very frustrating.
