Hunter Valley

Recommended Posts

Prez, Fuzz, you may be able to help:

I vaguely remember Fuzz mentioning that Mark and Belinda had ceased trading at their 1 Alfred Place restaurant and were moving to the Hunter Valley. Do you know if they have opened anything cigar friendly there yet?

I'll be up there this weekend. Thought I might drop in.

Cheers

Ken, do I have to turn left at the creek and continue 100 metres till I get to the 30m Eucalypt and then turn right when I get to where the dirt track meets the .....:-D

Can you offer a name or road it is on, the 'Old rothbury' doesn't do anything for me mate.

always wary when someone says you can't mis it but...

head down the main drag after the turn-off from the highway - if you are going to the hunter from sydney, unless you are coming from some dirt track out the back of buttsville that you have discovered, really no other way. it is on the left in the small bunch of shops et at the bottom of the hill - rothbury is the whopping giant white winery on the hill on the right (or now called hope esate i think).

I am also interested where they have re-located. If you get a chance, please let me know the address of their restaurant and the B&B.

i will accept that i have the worst sense of direction on the planet but saying opp rothbury in the hunter is a little like saying something in paris is at the foot of the eiffel tower or in DC, next o the white house.

» Colt, you crack me up!!!!

Tampa, I think we'd have to admit that sometimes the pickings are pretty easy :-D

» Hi Colt .......................... You are a legend mate :ok:

At least in my own mind

Great to see you Skid! I hope you've been able to find time for a good cigar.

Didn't get to have a chat to Mark or Belinda while I was up the Hunter, but here are the details:

Opposite Hope Estate on Broke Road there is a group of shops (located well before Tempus Two), general store, cheese and chocolate shop, wine shop etc. it is quite popular and you can't miss it. Mark and Belinda are operating the restaurant/cafe located in this group of shops.

The Staff there told me they are also operating a Bed and Breakfast called Vineyard Estate on Hermitage Road up past the Blue Tongue Brewery. Attached to the B&B is a seafood restaurant they are also running called 'Splash'. Didn't have time to check it out but if anyone else is up there soon perhaps you can pop in.

in Summary: Restaurant Cafe No. 1 - Opp. Hope Estate Winery in group of shops on left hand side of Broke Road driving towards Tempus Two etc.

B&B 'Vineyard Estate' and Seafood Restaurant 'Splash' on Hermitage Road.
