Best HOT weather cigar?

Recommended Posts

Hello from Phoenix. Today's forecast is a quite pleasant 112 degrees (F) with a relative humidity of SIX percent. See, it IS a dry heat.

I'm craving a cigar and am thinking about going outside and sitting in the shade on my patio with a cool, refreshing beverage. But you can't escape the heat even in the shade.

So what late afternoon smoke would you all recommend in such conditions?

Thanks!

Seeing as though I am not to far away (Sierra Vista) not quite as hot but hot none the less. I can say that I have yet to find a bad cigar in any climate. Having said that though, I tend to stay away from the really heavy full bodied smokes until the sun goes down.

Even with the low humidity, with that kind of heat I doubt I could smoke.

I'll have to go off the board and trade the cigars for some cold Pacificos,

Red Stripes, or Hornitos margaritas :-)

Yea I missed that part and just talked about strength. I aslo tend to favor shoters, half coronas do me best. If for no other reason than the fact that it is just so damned hot to be outside.

Plus I find myself drinking something cold as well which means combine heat and time in sun, with a smoke and 2 or three stiff drinks and it can be an unpleasant afternoon in the sun.

Them all!!! :-)

I tend to go with the lighter cigars: Trinidad Reyes, La Gloria Cubana Tainos, Hoyo Epi 2 if I'm having an occasional afternoon smoke in good weather. At night, maybe a Montecristo No. 2, or a Punch Double Corona (love those) or my current favourite the Hoyo Regalos....

A half corona or minuto and a gallon of Ice water. I would not worry about it being too heavy. The main goal would be to satisfy the craving and get the hell back inside! Punch Petite Punch, El Principe etc

Just because it's short does not mean it can't satisfy.;-)

You boys(Prez. and Shrink) left out the best little cigar, the Partagas Short.

» Rafael Ginzalez Corona Extra

» Juan Lopez Petit Corona

Oooohhh, good call. I'd almost forgotten the Principe, great warm weather cigar, as is the La Punta. I can see how you got to your position :-D

One off the all-time, any day of the year record in San Luis Obispo today. 110. What a day for the first day of summer. We are all in trouble.

So what happens when it is this hot (and 60% humidity where I live?) No cigar. Sadness and misery and but sweat reign.
