I purchased some the 3X5 packs and loved them so decided to order a box of SLB (25 count) and the bands on the SLB are different. the packs have the older brown and white ring and the SLB's have the red white and gold ring?? is this normal? and is this because of different factory locations or because of the different packageing? I guess I will know when I smoke them.

Thanks, if anyone can help.

Jimmy, you beat me to it. I wanted to write:

No, it's because you didn't buy 'em from a reputable dealer, like Czar!

Your main question answered, I'd like to add that a box I have from '05 are just turning the corner.

Early on this box was quite bland. Tried one this past week, and the flavors are really starting

to come forward - but they will still need more time to develop fully.

Thanks Jimmy2, I just tried one and it is the same cigar.

I do buy some stock from the Czar and love the service.

This is fast becoming one of my favorites. Have smoked a couple March 07's that came from some Aussie Friends of mine and they are fantastic.

colt, on this i am 100% with you. have had quite a few from varying vintages that have been bog-average bland in the early days. they seem to come to life after about 18 months, two years. become an entirely different, and far more interesting and enjoyable, smoke.

I agree - now I just wish I'd smoked a few less from this box.

ditto. same for a cab of 07 PLPC's. and for a cab of those bolly regionals from canada but i had no intenton of touching them until a certain prez snuck under the guard and i found him on my balcony with an opened cab and three half smoked. he is the human version of the scorched earth smoking policy.
