tbrady Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I purchased some the 3X5 packs and loved them so decided to order a box of SLB (25 count) and the bands on the SLB are different. the packs have the older brown and white ring and the SLB's have the red white and gold ring?? is this normal? and is this because of different factory locations or because of the different packageing? I guess I will know when I smoke them. Thanks, if anyone can help.
Jimmy2 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 They changed the bands red ,white and gold bands back in mid 06...
shrink Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Is this normal? and is this because of different factory locations or because of the different packageing? Jimmy, you beat me to it. I wanted to write: No, it's because you didn't buy 'em from a reputable dealer, like Czar!
Colt45 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Your main question answered, I'd like to add that a box I have from '05 are just turning the corner. Early on this box was quite bland. Tried one this past week, and the flavors are really starting to come forward - but they will still need more time to develop fully.
tbrady Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 » They changed the bands red ,white and gold bands back in mid 06... Thanks Jimmy2, I just tried one and it is the same cigar. I do buy some stock from the Czar and love the service.

This is fast becoming one of my favorites. Have smoked a couple March 07's that came from some Aussie Friends of mine and they are fantastic.
winelover Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I like the previous bands that look like the monte bands. The new 'old' upmann bands are too fancy IMHO.
Tampa1257 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 My Favorite H Upmann Mag 46's did not have any Bands on them................;-)
