a visit from the prez

and there went work for the rest of the day.

we had a few drinks and cigars on the balcony (stan, rob tells me i would have thoroughly enjoyed that last edmundo you so kindly gave me in havana if only hadn't swooped on it).

he brought around the poker loot - two hamlets. i must say i don't remember hamlets with dodgy wrappers and splits but at least they arrived.

Good show.. Does that mean you are behind on the deadline still?

ah, doesn't that show how this forum can be abused and members misled.

the prez is, of course, welcome to drop by at an time and we had a thoroughly enjoyable arvo. shortly after he left, an old mate from down south dropped by and i can tell you that some cigar or other - i forget how many but i do remember they had bands, or at least one did - goes very well with a bottle of pinot noir, appleton 21 year old rum, inner circle, hennessey XO, evan williams 1994 single barrel bourbon and the 18 year-old bundaberg. i know this because i feel like a million dollars today (should be locked in a dark vault and the key thrown away). i know all this because of the dregs, empties etc.

now excuse me, i'm off to a wedding an then have to be up at 4 tomorrow to head off fishing (that is real fishing colt, not make believe).

and the show on tv? oh how an ungrateful prez, having plundered my fridge, humidor and cellar, can twist things. i had the dawn service from france on the tele - anzac day for those overseas is a very important day in our history - and i have family that had gone across to attend (my grandfather spent more than 3 years in the trenches in france in WWI and had landed at gallipoli, though not in the first wave). it finished at 3pm our time. rob rocks up at 2.59 so i go and open the door and by the time we return, the program has switched. and he manages to sully this important time in australian life.

the shame, the shame.
