Well working in main Headquaters today so no smoking and tonight the wife has dinner party that we need to attend so there goes my night of smoking. All FoH members please enjoy for me.

Lunchtime Montecristo #2 from early '06, to see how they're coming along. The answer is much better than they started out, though still very youthful.

It's clearer and clearer to me over the years that the Monte flavor profile just isn't among my favorites - aged or young. Quality tobacco? Yep. Very well constructed? Yep, too. But with rare exceptions, give me a Boli, or a Partagas, or an Upmann or an RA and I'll be happier with it.

I just had the first of my 07 SLR DC from the cab I picked up a while back....

Right there with the Monte PE as the best box purchase I made in 07.

Amazing smoke!!

i couldnt agree more with you Tigger. I smoked a 7 month old BBF last night that was so much better than anything I have had montecristo in a very long time, aged or young. By the way, thanks for the Sir Winston from the NY Herf, it was excellent.

I have not had a superb Monte 2 in several years. Right now I have a wonderful Feb 2006 BRC. This example is deep, rich and complex just like the other's from the same box. An easy 93.

Just finished a BRC from 3/07. These are getting better all the time.

This evening, I'm enjoying the warm weather (68F) and smoking the first cigar from my box of JL#2 (Feb 07). I'm about 1/2 way through at the moment- Slightly young, but freaking delicious. The rest go down for a nice long nap.

'07 BGM from Czar's sampler pack. Great smoke, especially in the last third. Sweet, slightly fruity, creamy earthiness with nicely balanced pepper and spice. Great potential.

Coincidence....I had a Tatuaje Noella before dinner, and a Padron 1926 #9 after, with a Cohiba Robusto for a nightcap....it's snowing like mad in upper Midwest USA, so had a blazing fire and lots of time to smoke!

RASS and a Tatuaje Noella tonight with some Taylor Fladgate 10 year port.

Glad you enjoyed it :-)

I'm waiting for the right time to smoke the crusty old Padron you passed my way...
