KB24 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 What is everyone's thoughts on this brand? I like milder smokes so keep that in mind. Also, which vitola does everyone prefer? -Patrick

The cigars are reputed to be "mild" but I personally don't find them to be that way on my palate. Even if considered mild, I find them to be flavorsome, elegant and complex. My personal favorite is the Grand Coronas, which unfortunately are on the discontinued list. Slightly less stellar but still excellent choices are the Imperiales and the Coronas Claro. I recommend them to you.

Professor Twain Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I enjoy the Coronas Claro very much, highly recommended. Great sweet mild taste.
Tampa1257 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I absolutely enjoy the (In my opinion) Medium to Medium Full body and flavor of the Quai d'Orsay. It has brought out a lemon citrus essense that blends well with a toasted tobacco flavor. Where the Imperials is the mildest and I would say the most muted in flavor, that is simply representitive of the size. I really enjoy the Corona.:-D
El Presidente Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I struggle. Have had some good Corona's. One very good Imperiales which I still remember. 20 or so more of both vitola's which have left me cold I try to avoid them where possible. I have never reached for one outside of review purposes. I find them too mild for my taste with questionable complexity. So how come some experienced tasters love these and others do not? Personal taste ;-)
habanohal Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 If you smoke alot...I wouldnt reccomend them. Pretty much a tiny hint of tobacco flavor, but otherwise tasteless and very, very mild, especially if not smoked 1st thing in the morning. But we all have our opinions:-D

Ginseng Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 » What is everyone's thoughts on this brand? I like milder smokes so keep » that in mind. Also, which vitola does everyone prefer? » » -Patrick I really enjoy this marca. The Coronas is my favorite because in years past, it was a mild and creamy cigar (sweet milk tea is how I used to describe them) but in recent years 05 and 06, they seem much stronger. I was floored by an 06 Coronas I smoked recently. When they were milder, I gravitated to the Coronas because I just couldn't maintain the attention span for a longer smoke. The reminded me of the LGC Tainos, but not quite as aromatic or dry on the palate. I just had a recent vintage Tainos that was tasty if a bit papery. Wilkey
Stalebread Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I have enjoyed the few coronas that I've had. From '01, I think. Yes, mild, subtle but certainly not without flavor. I put them in the same category as Rafael Gonzales Lonsdales, not as far as flavor goes, but in that they both demand your attention. If you don't really listen, you can't hear what they're saying. Sometimes I have the patience for that. Sometimes I don't.
