Beautifully constructed cigar with my favorite smooth, deep tan wrapper. Perfect draw and burn

with great volume of smoke.

Supple leather, toasted tobacco, and an element of stewed fruit. Medium+ in body with a concentrated

flavor delivery. Initial hit of salt spice which quickly dissipates. Finish for the first third is short, dry, and

woody, giving way to a longer fruitier finish until the last third, where the finish is more of anise.

A buttery mouth feel with a structural tannic tinge. Past the halfway point it becomes just a bit

fuller, a bit more earthy, a bit more leathery, showing some pepper spice.

For me, this is the cigar equivalent of your best friend having your back in a tight spot - you need

never be concerned - it always delivers.

I can no longer rate this cigar - for me it's like ranking a Renoir, Degas, or Hopper. Or perhaps more

appropriately, the Colosseum or Grand Canyon.

P.S. Bring on the Bolivar Carlota......

Yes, Colt...

this is arguably the finest Julieta of all. And you've captured the essence of it. Rich, strong, complex. It's the total cigar.

As for Hopper, I never really liked his work in 'Easy Rider'.

Yes, but he surely made up for it in the tour de force that was Waterworld.......

What an inspiring line: "Dry land is not just our destination. It is our destiny!"

Nice review. I have just over a box of some from 03, May too I think. Great smokes and keep getting better.

I really think the 2006s I have will end up even better. If I can stop smoking the damn things.

Steve, I don't recommend trying the '06's...

I recommend buying them! They're terrific!

Early or late '06? Does it matter with this smoke?

I am happy that I still have half of this box, and another full box from '03.

I've not tried any from '06 or '07, but if you enjoy the Bolivar profile, I'd go with Shrink's advice,

and just go for the box. I have tried a few from '05 which were excellent as well - I can't imagine

the more recent vintages to be anything less. I hope if you do acquire them, that you'll let us

know your thoughts.

I bought a dress box (POS FEB06), and was so impressed, I bought another. If I had to do it again, I'd buy a cab for sure. Just can't say enough good things about this cigar. It's a classic.

I haven't smoked any BCG's from later 2006, but I did get a cab of BCE's from early 2007. They're just as good as the early 2006 BCE's.

Anyone try any BCG's from later 2006 or '07?

Dress box or Cabinet ?

Damn, I wish I had gotten the cab of BCG's. Just opening up a 50 count cab of Churchills or Doble Coronas is an experience in itself. And if it's been aged for a few years, when you first crack that puppy...

The aromas and appearance are breathtaking! Nothing like it.
