YFRS: Partagas Shorts TMO March 07

Smoked one of these a few weeks ago while vacationing in Hawaii. I had one on my balcony at the Westin in Maui, and thoroughly enjoyed it. So I decided to smoke one for my first review. So here goes.

Back at home in Illinois, in my garage. Smell at cold was light spice, and tobacco. The draw was almost too easy. I lit the end and the initial flavor was spicy tobacco. Medium-full body, and full flavored. There was tons of smoke, and a little sweetness.

Into the second third, and it's getting smoother, somewhat creamy and less spice taste. But there's pepper through the nose. Very enjoyable, more medium body, and less strong. Starting to develop a sweet creamy taste that kind of reminds me of sugar cookies.

In the final third, the cookie flavor is stronger, with some pepper. Going back to medium-full body. Getting close to the last inch and there's a little tarry flavor, but not bitter. The cookie and spice is still there. As it gets past the 1 inch mark the tarry flavor is more dominant, so I let it go out.

This is the first time I sat down with a notebook while I smoked. It was amazing how much flavor I could detect when I had a pen in one hand and a cigar in the other.

I rate this cigar an 89 and 5/6. I'm hoping they get better with some age.

Evo I highly recommend them if you enjoy a fairly large smoke. I however apparently need to get some shorts.
