OK.....I'm admitting it. Its consuming my life. I spend countless hours reading this forum's posts so that I can gain more knowledge about our "hobby".

I have subscribed to every email newsletter imaginable in order to obtain competative pricing on Padron's 80th Anniversay sticks.

I've purchased 3 humidors and those beads and expect to fill them all within the next 6 months.

I smoke about 4 sticks a day and try to rate every new cigar I try. Of course these ratings are entered into my computer and catalogued.

When I read a post that contains abbreviations for cigar brands and I cant immediately identify it, I get frustrated and mutter to myself "what the f*&k cigar is that?"

I constantly worry about humidity and temp.

Dont even talk about beetles..................

Am I nuts????

Welcome mate,

Just give up the NCs and you'll be fine.

You are an amateur.

1. You haven't started hiding credit card statements yet.

2. You haven't an online locker to hide the evidence.

3. You haven't had your wife reverse charge on a statement because she never purchased anything from CZAR....repeatedly.

4. You haven't been accused of an online affair because you continually speak to a "Lisa" late at night.

Things to do this week:

1) get Post Office Box for separate American Express statement

2) find out Lisa's favorite perfume

3) have walk in humidor built and tell my wife is a "panic room" in case of terrorist attack

Mel,

You have to appreciate all types of sticks if you are truly a cigar smoker. There are some very fine NC sticks out there. Yeah, I know that Cigar Aficianado doesnt have a relaiable rating system, but nonetheless, sticks made by Padron, Rocky Patel, Oliva, and Don Pepin Garcia are certainly fine smokes.

What is such a contradiction of terms to me is that just about every rating that I read that involves a cuban stick makes mention about the cigar needing to age for a period of time. I've sampled Monte #2, Bolivar Belicoso Fino, the Cohiba Maduro 5 and the Siglo VI so far. None were grand sticks, and I agree about the need to age. I just dont understand why. I dont understand the dynamics of why these world reknown companies would put out a product that isnt smokable for years to come.

IMHO, and its really worth nothing......the Padron 1926 Series is a fine cigar. Its mature and offers a rich, enjoyable smoke.

I may be only a novice when it comes to Cubans, but I have enjoyed plenty of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran sticks for the past 30 years. I would say the last 7 years has been a tremendous increase in the quality of all of them, especially the boutique manufacturers like Padron.

Welcome, Sonny, from one Padron fan to another. :-D

Like you, I enjoy a broad range of cigars from various countries around the world. There's so much pleasure to be had and if your palate and sensibilities allow it, there is no limit to how much fun you can have.

One day I could be tripping out smoking a $4 Black Pearl Rojo and the next, a $4 Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas or a $20 Cohiba Siglo VI. As far as I'm concerned, it's all good. :hungry:

Cool! :ok:

Now send me one. Please. Pretty please? :-D

j/k. These cigars are so hard to find that I have essentially given up on them. I'm going to have to satisfy myself with the 40th Anniversary sticks. But I tell you, the 1964 are still my sentimental favorite. I've been enjoying that line for some 10 years and they are as comfortable to me as a pair of well broken in slippers. When I'm feeling thrifty, I pull out some 1 or 2-year old 2000 maduros and just enjoy the hell out of my $3 friends.

Just as a note of recognition, when I was still in NYC, Jimmy2 was kind enough to offer me my very first cuban stick from his personal stash. I will always remember that and want to pass on his kindness to others on this forum. Its because of him that I enjoy this pleasure.

» Welcome!

Sunny my friend, my name is Kenyatta (Aka SiriusBlack). I am a new member to this forum and am from Philadelphia, PA. And...I too... am a cigaraholic. I have spent more money than I would like to admit on cigars and accessories. I had attended CA's Big Smoke in NYC. I have also attended the weekend long event in Las Vegas. I have even attended the Cigar International events and countless other private and semi private smokes. The worst of all...I just returned from a 4 day Trip to the General Cigar Facilities in Dominican Republic. A four day trip to "learn" about cigars. See...Sonny...I got it bad. So hopefully together we can seek help or least find more that are just as screwed up as we are!!!

Welcome! I have been here for just 2 months and last week I cracked and called Bob Staebell for my very own custom aristocrat. I guarantee you will do the same. Have fun and like me soak up all the info like a sponge. :-)
