Wrapper Experiment Update

Recommended Posts

What an awesome experiment. I can't wait to find out the results.

On a side note I was smoking an 06 Sig II the other night that actually tasted better with the wrapper removed, than with the wrapper on. It settled the cigar down and became way more approachable.

Very cool. Rob. I look forward to hearing how this turns out. BTW, what is that stuff in the white tub to the roller's right elbow?

Now that I think of it, the non-modified cigars (native wrappers) ideally should have had their wrappers removed and then replaced back on. This would rule out any possible effects of the remoistening, reapplication, and re-equilibrating sequence.

They are some high quality counterfeit cigars there Rob.

I have a couple of cigars with torn wrappers any chance of borrowing the roller for a couple of hours just to update my collection? Please Please..

I think that's the glue used when applying the cap.

P.S Rob, why are you letting him drink that poison XXXX?

Cut me a break :rotfl:

We have reviewed the cigars in the natural state. I will re-post those reviews when we do the comparison.

While our roller was here I asked him to change the wrappers on

Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios and Cohiba Robusto

Light and Dark wrappered Monte 2's from same box (part one tasting already completed and posted).

Cohiba Siglo VI and Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios.

The aim of the exercise s to determine the difference a wrapper imparts to the flavour of the cigar.

It will take a week or so for the wrappers to dry out but once they do to my satisfaction I will start the testing.
