Ken Gargett Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 wondering if anyone else has seen this and what were the thoughts. ducked out to the flicks on the weekend with some friends and all we knew was this was the latest QT pic. local paper gave it 4 stars but i knew nothing else about it. for me, i loved some of the earlier stuff and even quite enjoyed kill bill (1, at least, not so sure on 2). as for this one, i cannot ever imagine going to another film of his again. what a complete, mindless, utterly boring experience. a lunatic, after an interminable buildup, smashes his car into another car of four idiot women to kill them. a year later, he tires it again and after an even more interminable buildup, they get him. and that is it (normally i never reveal plots, if you could call this a plot, but here i am doing it for the good of the world - if it stops one person wasting their time, i have done a good thing). even worse, the one kiwi woman in the film gets to live. the worst film i have ever seen. one mate came out going on about what a genius the bloke is. for me, the emperor has no clothes. this was a diabolically bad film. save two hours of your life and go and count ants or something. it will be far more fulfilling.
Claudius Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I never go to the movies, but thanks for the warning, wont download this :-D » even worse, the one kiwi woman in the film gets to live. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Cam Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 the only reason ken is so anti-kiwi is because our women are too intelligent to succumb to his rude gestures and even cruder remarks
Claudius Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 » the only reason ken is so anti-kiwi is because our women are too » intelligent to succumb to his rude gestures and even cruder remarks The reason is never "because", the reason is always "that" :-)
anacostiakat Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I would not give up on him because of one film. Oh and I woul definitely go Tarantino on a kiwi woman.
Cam Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I'm sorry Claudius my typing was so quick and was carried out under the heat of the moment I couldn't help but comment, by the way? I didn't even know this was a Tarantino film, how stupid of me..
SmokinLightning Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Agreed, one of the worst films I ever forced myself to sit through. The other Grindhouse movie done by Robert Rodrigues is just as cheesy, but infinately more entertaining. Just your basic B film gore flick. Scenes in that movie will make you gag.. lol
Professor Twain Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 I agree with you Ken, utter trash, I only made it about halfway through. And Smokin, I agree that the other one is at least worth finishing. Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorites and I liked Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown, but this latest one is worthless.
Colt45 Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 While neither grindhouse movie is academy award material, I much preferred deathproof to planet terror.
diab0lik Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Yeah deathproof really sucked too much talkin about bs. i guess tarantino has lost the plot but people still praise everything he does.
Cam Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 of course they kiss his ass... pulp fiction is a classic kill bill 1 was OK but 2 was mediocre.. he's definately lost something then if this latest flick was **** house

I liked it but it is not something I would rent again. I thought the conversations were entertaining though, his films always are a bit intellectual on an off the wall level. I liked his better than the Grindhouse.
