Pulled out a single. Hence, not sure of the box code or even exact age, but it would have been 2-3 years of age. More and more in favour of putting at least a few years on the vast majority of cigars and certainly that applies to Coro’s. Think five to eight even better. Opened with an array of immediate spice flavours, especially attractive cinnamon notes. Good nutty flavours soon kicked in, plus a touch of orange rind. Reasonably full in flavour but maintained balance and subtlety. Already building complexity. Last third moved to an extra level of richness. By the end, the nuttiness was dominant. Terrific smoke, burnt fingers job. Really enjoyed this. Great advert for at least a few years in the humidor. 94+.

Nice review Ken. The Cohiba Robusto is a current star and I would have no problem putting a few away for a few years. There is a richness and complexity to them which sets them apart even from other current great Robusto such as BRC, RASS and JLS2. These cigars will match the Cohiba in terms of flavour, intensity and tobacco quality but the Cohiba Robusto has another layer of depth and character which transforms the cigar from "Very good cigar" to an "Experience". It has been awhile since a CORO has disappointed me.

The Cohiba Robusto is in a class by its self and IMHO may be the best regular production cigar from Cuba. I have smoked many from the fresh to the 6 y/o. While I may agree that age is a nice thing in this cigar it is not required for me to enjoy a CoRo. I have a box of 06 that came from Czars that are as good as any I have had and I will not age them all. They are to good now and I'm on them.:-D

Thanks for the notes, Ken.

Go figure. This is one of those cigars that I just can't seem to appreciate. I smoke them periodically to see if light bulb will go on but it never does. I would rather smoke a RASS or BRC.

Fortuitous, this post! I purchased a Habanos Robusto sampler earlier this year, box date Jun 06. Haven't touched one of the five until Saturday night, when I decided to smoke the Cohiba Robusto. Returned home from a nice evening at the symphony, and it was still about 70 deg F outside at 11:30 pm...rare in the northern latitudes for late Sept! My wife went to bed, and I decided to have a treat....and what a treat it was. Total surprise (well, I expected a good smoke!) and, as Rob says, it was a great experience.

A nice, complex smoke that I didn't want to end..and, unlike most Habanos that I've had recently, it stayed cool until the nub end..no hot smoke during last inch, which I don't use as a definition of quality, but it was a pleasant way to finish the cigar.

I look forward to getting a box and aging them..

I haven't been able to appreciate the CoRo's either. I had a box from 2002 and were very disappointed with them. Very little if any cream/grass in the mix. I need to pick up a 5'er and see how the young ones are doing.

Nice review.
