Okay some I'm a bit of a noob to cigars so if I ask any stoopid questions then please persecute me mercilessly :-D

I wonder if you can let me know what your favourite mild to medium cigars are? I enjoy fuller bodied cigars (or what I consider to be pretty full bodied anyway ;-) ) like Vegas Robaina, but I want to find some smokes that I can sit down with a coffee and enjoy without knocking me out for the rest of the day :-)

So far I've been enjoying the Monte No.5 as its a shorter smoke and the Cohiba Siglo II (when I have more time) but wondered what others I'm missing...

Cheers!

I choose SLR with fruit juice, Trinidad , Hoyo with coffee.

I beleive Hoyo's marriage meets most of drinks without strong liqur.

Along the lines of what you've already mentioned, the Montecristo No.4, Cohiba Siglo I, Trinidad Reyes.

I'm sure other members will add more - some of the Hoyo line perhaps.

Mild to Medium with coffee:

For me, I would go with something from Rafael Gonzalez (lonsdale, corona extra) or El Rey del Mundo (Choix, Taino, PC).

My thoughts are along the same lines, with the addition of Fonseca thrown in.

Soltino, you're an idiot. Don't you know anything about cigars? You have no place posting on this board. Why don't you go back to China where you belong? Get a life, jerk. I doubt that you could tell the difference betweena Cohiba and a White Owl.

Is that merciless enough? Hope you enjoyed it!

Try the Juan Lopez Seleccion No.1. I believe it is a Corona Gorda in size. I was looking for a nice summertime smoke and many people recommended this cigar. It is absolutely fantastic.:ok:

I second genevapics, the JLS1 is a very nice smoke, also try the Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill, very creamy, smooth, lite, and nothing harsh. Enjoy!!

Good god man if you can satnd that raping you should be able to hang with us.:-( Since Shrink is the author I sure it is some kind of fancy reverse psycology.:-(

Colt are you mad???? Of course you are but telling this guy that the Sig I is a mild smoke??? Rob lists it as the strongest of the Siglo series and I agree so that makes it law.

Now new and non-ignorant friend, the Hoyo line is nice and smooth along with the ERDM. The Grandes de Espana would make a very elegant companion to the best coffee.

Another Trinidad Reyes recommendation here.

Hoyo du Monterrey Le Hoyo du Prince is outstanding and sweet.

Quai D'Orsay Coronas Claro are another excellent choice for what you are looking for.

It never ceases to amaze me how subjective the cigar smoking experience can be. While they're smoothing a little bit from when they first came out, my May (I think) '06s are still quite bold. Excellent, for sure. I can see creamy and not harsh even. But "lite" has never come to mind for me with these.

One of the great things of this hobsession of ours, all the different opinions and views on things. :-)

I'm sorry I upset your sensibilities so. I realize you and fearless leader enjoy watercress finger sandwiches,

but I didn't think a Siglo I with coffee would be such a faux pas. My sincerest apologies.

Along this line, I consider the Trinidad Reyes to be a strong cigar, not mild in any way.

I usually reach for a Cohiba, Montecristo, LGC, Diplomatico, or Juan Lopez when I want a "less strong", but I'm not convinced any Cuban cigar is mild.

Hi Wiley, good to see you posting. I've only smoked about a half dozen reyes, from September '06.

I found them to be medium in body - not really strong - with a citrusy profile.

I'm sure Rob and Mel would be willing to set a place for you during tea time :-)

Thanks for all the suggestions peeps, much appreciated! Looks like most people like the Hoyo range so I'll be giving them a try.

Thanks genevapics for your suggestion of the Juan Lopez seleccion No.1, I'll try that one too :)

Gotta say, I've had a couple Trinidad Reyes and I found them to be more of a medium to full bodied smoke as well, nice flavour though.

Thank God for a mate that really knows how to screw ya! That is the first laugh I've had in two days. Things ain't so smooth round the office and house. These females are not always so fun you know what I mean?

Dear Colt sit down and learn something. Rob and I are way out front of you on this cigar thing and a nice liitle boy like yourself should show his proper respects to his superiors. ;-)

Wilkey don't be caught up in Colts attempts to play ahead of the big boys. Stick with Rob and I and you can help us teach these young-uns.:-D

It is true that there is no "mild" Cuban cigar you need to go Dominican for that.

Mel, sorry things aren't all rosy at the moment - but I'm glad I can bring that little ray of

sunshine to help brighten your day.

Well, I'm ready for the master class. I'm sitting here at my desk with my feet together,

hands folded, and wearing a frilly smock.

Whenever you guys are ready.......

Soltino, the JLS No.1 is a wonderful cigar. I have almost exhausted the lone cab I purchased this spring/summer and they were 07's!

I would also take a look at the Trinidad Reyes that a few people here have mentioned. I have only smoked a few, but for me, they are the best in the Trinidad line.

Good luck with your purchases.

Best mild to medium I would say are:

- El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme

- Hoyo de Monterrey Robusto

- Cohiba Robustos, Lanceros, Coronas Especiales and Esplendidos

- Por Larranaga Petit Coronas and Lonsdales (ER Germany)
