Bolivar Royal Corna 07

This is my first review, so be gentle.;-)

I am still trying to figure the exact box code because some Australian Government official slapped a sticker across it:-( , but I think this is ABR 07.

This was more a meal than a cigar. Beautiful construction, slightly loose draw. As I fired the foot, I realized this cigar was telling me sit down, because it was going to act like a steroid ingesting baseball player.

Smoke went everywhere. Thick plumes of smoke, it was like being in front of the smoke machine at the local “gentleman’s club.”:-D

The first third of this meal was Cayenne pepper coated pecans. The spice was a nice appetizer to begin my five course meal. This lasted the perfect amount of time as next came a black pepper run that lead to the main course. This full bodied Bolivar was akin to eating the large blackened bacon wrapped fillet. It was rich with every draw and almost chewy. I even detected a hint of scalloped potatoes. I was really enjoying the flavors, and then everything changed to dessert. The final third was a very dark chocolate dessert with a double espresso chaser. Once again the Bolivar RC did not show anything but bravado. After the dessert section, came a smoky (like a great cask of single malt) finish with a nice lick of nicotine. From my old cigarette days, it was like the Marlboro Red after a great meal.

In case you are wondering, I was not hungry when the adventure started so I am not sure where all this came from.

I am not sure what I expected after reading several reviews, but what I got was a very good cigar, that should be great down the road.

91/100

Nice review...you must have been in a good mood when you smoked it...nothing more relaxing than sitting down and really paying attention to the smoke and just letting the mind wander....until one of the kids screams and it snaps you out of it !!!

Man... with two ankle biters under four, I KNOW what that feels like.

Oh... and Fletcher, thanx for the review... nicely done... are you sure you haven't reviewed cigars elsewhere before?;-)

Nice review, just took delivery on these, so I am resting them from the trip. In 45 days I will sample.
