El Presidente Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Trinidad Ingenios (Girth 42 x 165 mm in the length). A Cervantes plentiful of aromas, smooth taste, and elegant appearance. Cigars are packed in a Semi Boite Nature box with 12 sticks in one layer. No pricing or definitive ETA but I would expect them within the next 45 days.

El Presidente Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 And most importantly gentlemen.....hat's off to Habanos s.a for a thinner ring gauge release ;-)

zuma Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Wow! Such gorgeous looking cigars in such an elegant format...
tandblov Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 What kind of cigar will these be? Are these going to have a regular EL type cigar? The picture gives me the impression that these are more like a "trinidad cervantes" witha regular wrapper instead of a trinidad EL.
El Presidente Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Two year aged wrapper, darker than normal taken from the top of the plant (normal EL). Two year aged filler. Looking forward to tasting :-)

jgros001 Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 » And most importantly gentlemen.....hat's off to Habanos s.a for a thinner » ring gauge release ;-) I certainly enjoy the idea of a lonsdale release. But it kind of pisses you off when they cut a bunch of the lonsdales and then come right around and toss this in your face....a new box of 12 lonsdales that will cost an arm and a leg. And you know what, they might get me on this too....haven't really looked at an EL release in a while but this is intriguing.

Let's see... the latest lonsdales release are 120 a box of 10, so for a box of 12 they would be 150. Being an EL, they'll be at least 20% more (180), but probably around 200. That's my guess anyway...

I'll go with $250-275 based on the Cohiba Piramides pricing - I know a little lighter in weight but a year of inflation and Trinis and Cohibas are fairly close in price. I would love to see $200 but think that may be low....I hope I am wrong.

I think the comparison with the Cohiba Pyramides is slightly flawed in that Cohiba is the only triple fermentation brand "justifying" the sort of price premium they go for. Trinidads should be priced lower IMHO. That being said, they may well exceed the 200 mark. I'm just hoping as well! :-|

broozer Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 » » The Pyramides are also a lot more cigar than a Lonsdale, thus demanding a » higher price. I think that $190-200 is reasonable. well, i don't know if $200 for 12 lonsdales is "reassonable", but that's about the price i was guessing. this one does get my attention, but i haven't decided on wether i'll get any. these ridiculous high prices need to be countered at some point. bruce
Claudius Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 » The Pyramides are also a lot more cigar than a Lonsdale, thus demanding a » higher price. True, but there are only 10 cigars in a box compared to 12 in the Trinidad box. For the sake of the comparison, I considered that to make for an approximately equivalent amount of tobacco if you know what I mean.
cls515 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Should be releasing soon, huh mate? :-D Looking forward to grabbing a box.
