a mat sent me the below link. it must be simple because even i managed to unload it. this is bruce at his absolute high energy brilliant best. it is a big download but really worth it.

the live performances are so compelling. i have had quite a few friends who were so-so about the boss until they saw him live. then it is no contest. this conveys much of that.

these were my mate's instructions.

Now he’s another little treat for you....if you can get the technology worked out....a 3hr Bruce show from 1978...really good sound quality too

Go to this blog

http://ickmusic.com/index.php/page/2/

It’s in 3 parts...download the whole thing or just individual songs....mp3 files will download to your desktop...just click on them once the icon comes up on your desktop and they’ll automatically go into your iTines

jimmy, i envy anyone who still has before them, the sheer joy of discovering the music of springsteen. i suspect you may not feel that way.

Listening now Ken.

Any particular track? Listening to Born to Run and suppressing the urge to place two fingers down the throat ;-)

While I don't consider myself a fan per se, I saw Springsteen live a couple of times in the 80's, and must say he puts on a great show.

One of them was in New Jersey. He rocked the hometown crowd.

Always loved The Boss right up until "born in the USA" then I wrote him off.

"We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions" won me back what a great unexpected album!!

If you haven't heard this (even if you dont like him) you should check out this disc!

Well I must admit it is a great listen and one that I forgot about.

Normally I just read the posts but I have been moved to comment by all the incessant Bruce-bashing that is going on here  Surely anyone with decent taste in music can tell Springsteen is a genius, as a songwriter and performer?! I for one am a pround Boss fan, and an excited one at that seen as how this morning I just bought tickets to see him live with the E-Street Band in Belfast in December :-)

Thunder Road is the best song ever written, and I loved the version of Highway Patrolman on the Live in Dublin cd. Also thanks Ken for the link to the Roxy concert downloads - I am enjoying it muchly as I write!

Ok, I've satisfied my indignation now:-D

An incredible album. I'm surprised that Rob hasn't chosen the track "Pay Me My Money Down" as the Czar theme song.

see rob, you're wrong. you keep telling me that there is no one with any class or taste on this forum (other than us) but this proves otherwise!!

I realise that this is not generally the done thing around here, but I have the courage to stand by my convictions :-P . Also, we British have a strange compulsion to always back the underdog...

Jenny

PS I'll get around to introducing myself properly soon

PPS I assure you that I am not Ken. Although admittedly the not-too-clever predictive text function on my mobile phone does sometimes result in my friends receiving text messages from "Kenny"

This makes a little more sense - Ken loves the English. His favorite holiday is Queen's Birthday.

You two should get along famously. Welcome to FOH.
