OK, so how do you smoke these things? Have 2 friends with you ? I am guessing cut ribbon and fire it up.

Will probably get some looks for the curly cue look.

Cut the ribbon....share them around.

You look like you re swalloing a pigs tail that is on fire

Knowing my penchant for smoking cigars which are "seconds" my son Ben looked at me smoking a Culebra last Saturday and said with a hint of disgust "dad....surely you don't have to smoke cigars that damaged" :lol2:

Someone posted on another board, that they were smoking a Culebra, and a friend said, "What's that... it looks like a dog ****!"

... think I'll settle for the pig's tail.

(that was me! here is my review)

Yeah, i smoked one already.. This cigar was shared with my brother Joe, and my wife Jaclyn..

Immediately upon taking it out of its coffin, the comments began.. What the hell is that? that looks like a dog's ****? Do you smoke all three together? blah, blah, blah. I was surprised to see the size of these things.. They almost appear to be a slimmer corona? (maybe someone could be more specific to help those who have never seen them understand the size???)

Well i split the cigar up and handed them out, keeping one for myself. I must say it was quite good.

I smoked mine to the nub, and was impressed by the spicyness it carried, which i have found very typical for the partagas marca. I had no draw issues, which i expected to find as the cigar twisted and turned, but it smoked evenly throughout.

My brother was very impressed, as he doesnt smoke alot of cigars, but can appreciate the good ones when he gets them (usually from me) He began to dip his cigar in amaretto, and my wife followed suit. Both thoroughly enjoyed the flavors combination of the spicy partagas and the sweet amaretto.

Back to me. About the 1/2-way point, the spiciness continued, but it started to taste a bit meatier.. Almost like a dry-spiced-meat. It was interesting to say the least, left me licking my lips after each puff. I didnt follow the weird amaretto dippers, since i was very interested in appreciating the flavors this cigar had.

The meaty flavor began to dissipate towards the last 1/3 of the cigar, but the spicy flavor continued, and now became more smoky. It never really burned too hot, as i was able to nub it withouth burning my fingers (everyone knows what i mean, when you fingers start to burn, yet you arent really touching the cherry?) I smoked this cigar very slowly, taking very deliberately smooth puffs, again trying to enjoy all that this cigar had to offer.

Overall I would say it was an awesome smoke.. Partly b/c of the comments everyone had beforehand, and the comments they had afterwards.. Joe said it was the best cigar he had ever smoked, i wouldnt say that but enjoyed it thoroughly.. And my wife smoked the whole thing as well, which i cant say about most of my cigars she smokes (aka wastes).

out of 100, i would give this cigar an 87.. remember please that the box arrived at my house friday afternoon, and was smoked saturday night, which i try not to do.. Alot of potential lies inside these little snakes. Cant wait to experience what even a few months of age will do to the flavor profiles of these bad boys..

Nice review!

But I had to comment on this quote from your post:

BLASPHEMY! Don't let your family and friends debase the noble Habanos! Especially when you are providing the cigars.

» Got mine today!!!! Looking forward to these bad boys. Thanks again! :-)

I had one of these Tuesday night with Barney, and i must say I was IMPRESSED. It had a meaty type of flavor unlike any other Partagas I have smoked. Also, I didn't notice any of the Partagas spice either.

I had one last night that had been in my humidor for 3 weeks. Strong raw Partagas profile with quite a bit of trademark pepper. Even though the old ones were MM, I think the overall profile will end up very similar once these new releases have had a year or two to age and settle. Presentation and construction are excellent.
