Wiley Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Will there be enough to go around, that's my question.
El Presidente Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 » Will there be enough to go around, that's my question. There will be mate but perhaps not in the first shipment. What we are considering is breaking up our shipment to provide tasters of the different vitolas while taking orders for full boxes. At least this way members will see if they actually like the cigar. Pricing should not be as astronomical as what you have seen on other BB's. We have no intention of gouging. Keep in mind these will be a regular production cigar albeit in limited quantities.

Pricing has been announced by one U.K. vendor I know of: Secretos:$325 Genios:$718 Magicos:$640 However, these are U.K. prices converted to USD. So, they are probably around 30-40% higher than when most vendors get them in stock.

They should not be used as a yardstick, IMO. There's MOre than the conversion rate inflated there.

Actually, if you took away the currency conversion (which they have no control over) and U.K. taxes (which they also have no control over), their prices are essentially in line with MOST vendors. The 30-40% higher is probably about what their cigars are compared to others. So, ~$190/$430/380 is what we'll see for prices respectively using 40% higher pricing. I would guess that is a good ballpark for pricing, imo.
smokum Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 » I can wait for you guys. DEFINITELY !!! I don't feel like paying down the national debt of England by purchasing from them !

Not to nitpick, but 425 for a box of Sigo IIs is nearly double the going rate at most sites, some more some less. So around 100% higher using that cigar as a benchmark. Of course I always sucked at math. Good at science, shitty at math.

Given that I do not have an unlimited budget for cigars, I like the idea of a sampler with several cigars in each vitola.

Professor Twain Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Seems to me like the smart play would be to get just a few singles when they are at their peak price right out of the gate, and wait to buy boxes until the inevitable price drops occur.
puros71 Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Any feedback on on taste and which size is the best?
El Presidente Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 » Any feedback on on taste and which size is the best? I have tried them all. Very similar flavour profile throughout. To be honest I thought they were extremely good. One part Padron 1926 series two parts Cohiba Robusto. That is how they tasted to me. The heart and soul of the greatest of Cuban cigars with a slight sweet cream maduro edge.

JeepCop Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 The anticipation is killing me! I've got my wallet out and ready.
lepatrik Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 C.Gars Ltd get these babies in one week and have started taking preorders, but still no news from you guys
brian1 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Rob, how would you rate these versus the Comids 2006 EL? Thanks » » Any feedback on on taste and which size is the best? » » I have tried them all. brian1 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 FWIW I was in the fabulous Gerard store in Geneva chatting with Vehe Gerard recently and he was smoking the small Cohiba Maduro and he said he was not that impressed with them, said they were "green" and needed more time.

kmax Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Ditto right up my alley!!!!! I have my CC clear and ready for some of these:-) Is there a preorder sign-up sheet?:-)
sig 111 Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Here is what one gent had to say about the ones he smoked: I must say the box of 25 cigars in a black lacquered box with a gold clasp for closure, is very impressive. The smell of these cigars is heavenly, barnyard-ish and a little musty. The prelight draw was tight at first for the first 1/4 inch. The wrapper tasted somewhat salty but yet sweet. Cocoa of all flavors started immediately after the 1/4 mark. Swiss Chocolate flavors then turning to the Dark Chocolate flavors. This cigar burned very well for 1 solid hour. I did nub this one. Yes these are pricey smokes, BUT, HOLY COW, this is already a 95 out of a 100 for me. The VERY BEST smoke I have every had right our of the box, no kidding. I hope you all get to enjoy one of these fine cigars one day. PS, I did not stop with this one as I smoked the robusto size also. WOW. A chocolate lovers cigar alright!
Mel39 Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 What a waste it will be. I am going to a launch party on Thursday the 5th in London. Apart from the Maddies, there will be Mojitos and Salsa music. I get to sample all three; Magicos,Secretos and Genios but as you'll know I am so new to the art, that I will not be able to describe them to you guys; apart from "ermmmm very nice" or "I didn't like that one". I know send them to you guys, nah my ticket cost me £60 so intend to get my money's worth. Just hope the rain stops for this evening in the open. It's been raining like forever in the UK. Mel39
