rarely smoke a cigar when i'm working but sunday evening and just felt like it. doing a piece on the art galleries of madrid - long story - and was looking a a photo of what i think is one of the most amazing of all paintings, dali's "Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee around a Pomegranate a Second before Waking up" - check out http://www.museothyssen.org/thyssen_ing/co...on/ficha388.htm if you want to see it. was thoroughly enjoying a partagas serie 3 (i know that rob has banned me from reviewing this one because he wants to keep them for himself) and not paying attention. picked it up and put it in the wrong way. believe me, if you have never done it, it comes as a massive shock. immediate reaction is to spit hard. of course, that meant all over the computer. not pretty. as soon as you realise what you have done, you need to spit again and this time i thought the sensible thing would be the ashtray. try a big spit into your ashtray sometime. ash flies everywhere. mostly over the computer.

not my finest moment and no need for the prez to comment.

and needless to say my previously very high regard for the partagas serie 3 has plummeted.

So Ken, when it is all said and done, you just can't handle Dali's work, or you got over excited? :lol3:

Sounds like you were having your own dream caused by the delicious flavors of a Partagas in front of the computer a second before waking up. :lookaround:

Oh, Man! I've done that. Years ago when I was doing a bit of blacksmithing I smoked Parodis. One day I put the cigar down on the corner of the anvil. As I recall, I took a piece of steel from the fire in one hand and reached for the cigar with the other. I put the cigar in my mouth hot end first. Shock, indeed. In my case, though, I could just spit into the forge fire.

I've done that with a cigar, fortunately I was out by the pool so the damage was minimized.

If you ever get to Tampa Bay, you may want to visit the Dali museum in St. Petersburg. From the web page:

"Today, together with Dalí's own museum in Spain, the Theatre-Museu Gala-Salvador Dalí our two institutions constitute the most comprehensive collections of the artist's work and research archives in the world. "

Hands are ok. Teeth, however, are a no-no.
