I think these cigars will be unbelievable in 5 years time. While still a wild untamed mustang, they are going to develope into something special when they are ready to calm down.

Maybe its just me, but these cigars are pretty damn good right now. I tried another one about a month or so ago and it has changed quite a bit. Not as spicy or leathery, but quite floral. I too agree these will be fantastic cigars in the coming years, I just can't keep myself from smoknig them now though :-( .

Excellent, candid review. I much prefer the P2 and D4 from 2006. Hopefully a few years will bring out the royalty in this one.

I have just finished one and I could not agree more, these smokes should defenitly be put in the back of the humi and forgotten about for atleast a year if not two.

One of the best looking boxes of cigars in my humidor, construction and color look flawless on every cigar. I had to bury it in the back to resist the temptation to smoke them immediately.

Great review.

X2 Being a BIG Partagas fan, this is at the top of the "Must try" list!

Thanks for another great review!

Having sampled 2 recently I have to say these are smoking superbly at the 2 year mark. These are alot more flavorsome at 2 years than the originals were at the same age. If I can keep my hands of these I think they will rival if not surpass the 2001's my current favorite all time EL in the coming years.

I think that Partagas are the best of the EL line up. Wish I had bought the PSD2 and PSD1 when they were available. I will be buying the PSD5's EL later this year for sure.

After the superlative Montecristo Robusto Edicion Limitada I enjoyed a few days ago, I really wanted to try the Partagas Serie D No 3 Edicion Limitada 2006 to see if it had also developed along the same lines.

Faultless looking cigar. Faultless construction. Sweet spice aroma at cold.

Cerrated the cap. Sweet cinnamon and dried hay on the lips. Excellent draw. Torched the foot...medium bodied, good level of white pepper through the nose, coffee, burn't caramel on the palate along with some charred wood. Wet grass mixed in there somewhere which I do not like. Still way too young. Certainly not at the same level of approachability as the Montecristo Robusto of 2006.

Muted stewed fruit flavours, charred wood and that damned wet grass which leaves an astringency/bitterness in the mouth. Once this aspect of the cigar disappears in 6 months to a year it will be a cracker....but until then put it down. The cigars development has been positive. There are certainly more distinct flavours since my last tasting but its youth is unmistakeable. Excellent potential.

Into the last third and certainly full bodied, out of balance and out of control ( I know this type well  ). Bitter chocolate, charred wood and ammonia. Twisted genius but at this time the flaws...while not fatal...need to be treated with a little time.

87/100 4/6 smokerings
