What is the general thought about this regional release? I got a box when they first arrived, havent pulled one out yet, but want to. Your thoughts would be great.

Thanks,

Stan

I smoked the single i had on easter. Flavorwise i really enjoyed it, but i dont think i gave it enough humi time and the draw was a bit on the tight side. Based on the one i had, i can see these having some nice aging potential.

What Colt45 said, except that I think I'll wait at least another year.

Stan, smoke one and you tell us how they are. Gotta start sometime.

I have a 50 cab, and I smoked one about a month ago. If the one I had was any indication of the rest, these are the world's biggest POS. It was the most tightly rolled cigar I have ever smoked, and that was AFTER i had dry boxed it for a month. Hopefully the other 49 won't be so bad, but just on inspection, the top 10 from the cab that I looked at were tightly rolled and hard as a brick. Looking like the biggest waste of $700+ ATM, but I will give them a bit more time.

I have a box resting, but Tampa1257 and I sampled a couple of singles tonight (so I could leave my box untouched). They were a beautiful smoke, started a bit muted in their flavor but by the mid point they had great RA fruit flavors, and they continued this to the end. The final couple of inches were strong and full flavored. I see excellent potential here, glad that I have a box. I've stored these singles in my relatively dry (60%) desktop since November.

I have a 25 Bx just sitting in my cabinet at 63%. I have heard mixed reviews. I have heard a lot more great things than bad and can't wait to crack the box open. I haven't even tried my Bolivar Colosales yet. The PL Lonsdale is FANTASTIC...even young.

Ok so i dipped into my box last night to try one. This cigar smelled great, and had a nice oil sheen wrapper. I have to say this thing was hard as a rock. I fished around the box and noticed all of them seemed very hard. Naturally im worried about the draw. Smell was very appealing, smooth balanced tobacco aroma. Grabbed a bottle of Montes Alpha 2004 Cab Sauvignon, and lit the cigar.

Man this thing is almost plugged, extremely firm draw. I was hoping it would free up soon. cant comment much about the flavors or the body, cause im just trying to get it going. Unfortunatly it didnt open up at all. I got through maybe an inch 1/2, and just gave up. I keep my humi set at 65%, dont think that is the problem. Frustrated i got me a Cohiba EL 2006 !!!! I needed something to fill the void. I have to give my self some time to gather my thoughts on this one. WOW!!!!Incredible cigar, just blew me away. I will Post a review later.

Any pointers on handling this situation. Will they open up with age? Not sure what to think here. The smell from the cigar was great. Very disappointed with the experience. First one out of the box, and not in a hurry to try another anytime soon.

Sorry to hear this. As much as I hate to do it, I probably would have used a skewer

to try and ease the draw.

I hate it when this happens and for it to happen to a 2006 Regional Release just pisses me off even more.

Take another hard one out of the box and smoke it this weekend after dryboxing it for 24 hrs. If the same occurs, go through your box and select the worst offenders (Josie....do the same). Arrange for them to be shipped back and I will replace the tight SOB's and then forward yours to PCC.

El Prez,

G'day. I've not personally tried this RA yet. I did received mixed feedbacks during my most recent trip to Melbourne.

Also I've noticed (in several places in Melbourne and Auckland) the RA Estupendo are more susceptible to whitish mold. Any idea why and is this format more tightly rolled than the 2006 Punch Super Robusto?

Thanks.

I haven't experienced or seen any draw problems on these. We sent out over 10,000 cigars in a two week period so it is not a cigar that we have had a lot of experience in holding long term or evaluating over a period of time. I have just now checked our limited remaining stock of both the PSR and the RAE and there is no mould on either so I suggest the white mould may be a storage issue (too high a temp and slightly too high a RH).

Yea, havent seen that on the RAE here. I have only smoked one of them and I don't plan on smoking any more for at least 3 years.

This is most troubling news. However, I checked my box and none were particularly hard. All of them at least looked as the they had an acceptable draw. In fact, some appeared that they might have been a little bit loose! Hopefully over time these will open up a little bit.

The bastards are tight as a lot as I have smoked several. Yes Colt I am a "savage" and make no apologies.;-) When you get one to draw ant let ou the flavor they are very good. No mold here yet. I found the Emenencias to bue on the tight side also any body else see that?

Hey Colt please do try one. I dont show any signs of mold. Humi is dead on 65%. Goin to check my entire box again and see what i come up with.

My box is numbered 180/260

You know i went through the box and am kind of stumped. They all seem tight to me. Some harder than others. I have had some "tight feeling' cigars before, however they smoked just fine. Im not sure if it was the luck of the draw on this one or not. I certainly dont want to send some back to Rob and get the response "Theres nothing wrong". I will smoke another maybe tonight and see what happens.
