From the box, ROA AGO 06. Superb appearance. Cold, the aroma was lovely old leather, old shoes, old armchairs and freshly barbecued corn. Opened wonderfully. Richer than the typical Cohiba flavours; some dark chocolate; dense smoke. Exciting start. The burn, which continued right through it, was slow and consistent. The flavours morphed into spice, citrus, orange peel and stonefruit. Though young this smoke is already building complexity and is more subtle than one could expect. Exhibits that wonderful Cohiba ability (that the best have) to seem cool right through - something that the new Cohiba Maduro5 achieves as well. Terrific now but should shine in 18 months and explode in five to ten years. A cracker and a must-have. Second from this box and consistent notes. There might be legitimate questions over some of the Limited Edition releases but when they get it right, as here, they can be brilliant. 95.

Great review Ken ! If only my palette were as refined as yours.......

I really fantastic cigar. I am so happy I bought another box to age, and I am actually thinking of buying another one with the current prices :hungry:.

I dont know bout all those adjectives Ken, But they are DAMN GOOD!!! I said I wasnt falling for these whjen they were comeing out. Too high of a price point.

But had an offer I couldnt refuse for six boxes of them. Which means I can smoke through 3 of them at least, and it will leave the other 3 for some serious ageing time

Might get a bit lower if no interest is shown in these. I think alot of them are stuck on shelves for the 2001 Els' are still haunting alot of people who thought they were not up to par.

I have had one of these, it tastes too much like the other EL's IMHO, and since I don't really care for the EL's in general (too heavy with a dirty aftertaste) these don't float my boat at all. I'd much rather have a Trinidad for much less money. Oh well more for the rest of you.
