New Cohiba Maduro Release will make its appearance at the Habanos Festival in Havana February.

The three new sizes will include a Reyes, Campana, and a slightly shorter version of the Canonazo (Cohiba Siglo VI)

I am looking forward to trying the Reyes. I am picturing a Padron Anniversary Principe but on Cuban steroids :-P

Great info once again Prez!

If the new Cohiba Reyes lives up to its Trinidad cousin:-) ...!:-)

From what I believe is that with Cuban Cigars, the wrapper doesnt attribute much flavor to the cigar. So my guess is that this is another good marketing ploy by Habanos.

Alot of people have already been talkin bout them.

True Craig but I was unaware of the sizes. This is the first true Maduro that Cuba has made and being made with aged leaf.

They are cogniscent of some of the sceptisism of this Maduro release. They hope to stun the world so we will see.

Do yo know how dark of a wrapper it will be? I have quite a few boxes that I would consider Maduro. Alot of the RYJ Hernosa #2s, also I have a 25 ct cab and a 50 cab of HDM Epicure #2 that are as dark as any Maduros I have seen.

Not trying to be pushy or rude here, its just that Cohiba is a light enough of a cigar. With the darker wrappers, I have noticed that they are more mellow.

With Non Cuban cigars, alot of people think that the darker the wrapper, the more flavorful and stronger they will be when it is the oppisite.

New sizes I understand. Especially with Cohiba. My findings with the brand is that the smaller the cigar, the more flavor there is to them. Tasteings more along the lines of the Lancero, but not nearly as mild as some of the Siglo series.

Dark Leaf cigars out of Cuba until now have been darker leaf tobacco, nothing less nothing more.

The Maduro leaf will be naturally cured over an extended period to effect a true Maduro leaf.

I can't comment on the flavour profile until I try it. However, you are talking about Cuban Leaf Maduro as opposed to Dominican, Honduran etc. It is bound to have different flavour properties.

I am looking forward to it. I know a great deal of effort is being put into these as it will be a standard line release as opposed to an Edicion Limitada. I am hoping that pricing will be reasonable.

Priceing would be the main key to it all. Since were talkin Cohiba......do you know exactly to your knowledge when the new bands were introduced on cigars? If I remmber right, you said they were out on 04 Cohiba Siglo 6s'.

Just askin for I have had the 2001 Pyramid EL with new bands , also 2 boxes of the 02 Seleccion REeserve. Both %100 legit boxes

I think the Reservas were the first Cohiba to use the gold lettering on the band, so gold on a 2001 EL is not a good sign. I guess it IS Cuba...

Oh hell yeah! I'd love to try one of those!!!! :-)

Is this the first Cuban cigar with a maduro wrapper? I'm not familiar with any others.

Rob,

Count me among those that are skeptical. In general, I love Cohiba and I hope they are right and they do stun the world. It would be great for all of us. I will be interested to hear people's opinions of these after they are released but unlike some new releases I will be waiting to hear/read people's opinions before taking the plunge.

Agreed Scott. There will be plenty of opportunity for reviews as this is a permanent release....not limited. No rush to purchase.
