I forgot to mention...do not try smoking this code yet. They are far, far from ready for ignition. So far, the legendary PLPC qualities do not seem to be evident.

» Not terrible, but fairly acrid. The rest get left alone. Really.

» I am hoping that they are not too far away. February is my guess.

Favorite Petit Corona.. SOMething about their taste profile that seems to agree with me. The newer 05 batch is still too fresh.. But I am hoping they will age nicely.. Have 2 cabs resting in deep slumber..

Resurrect this thread.

I was able to get some dated Mar 05. I've smoke a handful over the past months and they are so good now. The one I had tonight was very powerful for a petit corona, with caramel present from the very start. About midway I noticed a chocolatey/coffee undertone, which further developed into a more powerfull caramel flavor. Kinda came full circle but ended stronger, which is why I like the petit coronas and corona gordas, how the strenght builds. It is unfortunate the rest won't make it another year.

Funny that this thread should be bumped so recently. Last night I smoked the third out of my cab dated FEB 06. After trying a couple in July, I laid these down for 6 months to see where they would go. Well, this month brings their 1st birthday so I decided to give it a shot. The flavors were much smoother and sweeter and toastier than the last one that I had (which was most certainly off, regardless of its youth... such cigars make it easy to lay off the rest of the cab ;-) ), but they were still very mottled and relatively light in strength and the caramel flavor wasn't there yet. They're coming along, but not quickly.

I still have half a cab that I had split with smokozuna from KMM NOV 04

and I have not laid a finger on them since 05. I think its time to sample and see how they are going along.

I have partial cabs, been smokin mates, from 02,04 and the last one is 05 or 06 can't remember. They are all good and show how serious a PC can be. Real men do suck petits.;-)
