Mel Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Damn that IRS! How dare they disrupt my cigar purchases? Has this ever happened to anyone else? :-( Sorry Rob that several G that I had ready to send to you has been highjacked by the Feds.:crying:
SuperT Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I'm still not done with my taxes, but I have a feeling it's gonna be UGLY! I've spent the better portion of the last two nights just preparing to do my taxes. . . :crying:

Havana Joe Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Between my wife and I, we barely made out ok. But at least we got a small refund :-)
smk819 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 If expenses at CZ were tax dedutable, I would have made out like a bandit.
Mel Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 » If expenses at CZ were tax dedutable, I would have made out like a bandit. I wish! My accountant says I'm 15G underpaid. That's going to leave a mark. Can't wait to hear the wife go on about how if I had not bought so many cigars then I would have had more money for taxes. I got the money ok but hate to give it to the damn government. Only they can waste more money than I can.
tey Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 » If expenses at CZ were tax dedutable, I would have made out like a bandit. say they are gifts to clients and your self employed:cool: not sure if it works though
habanohal Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 ASSHOLES are stealing $27,000 from me. The kicker is that since I am self emplyed, I get taxed even more. SO once again it looks like I am going to take it up the a$$ again. It would be no loss if the whole situation of the IRS was to be destroyed
Wiley Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Yeah, I always owe the government a bunch of money this time of year. Thanks for making me miserable by reminding me! :-P
shrink Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 If expenses at CZ were tax deductable, I would have made out like a bandit. You mean they're NOT? I list them under medications!
Ken Gargett Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 » If expenses at CZ were tax dedutable, I would have made out like a bandit. aren't they?

Loki Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Me too. Refund from Feds and State. I think its going towards the down payment on the new Harley FXDBI Street Bob that I've been thinking about ordering. Just gotta make time for a test ride.:-D

Ginseng Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Sorry to hear about your rectal surgery guys. We're getting a little back this year (still not enough to pay for even half of my daughter's preschool) but when we sold our house, we lost that sweet mortgage interest deduction. Wilkey
mgillett Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Wow, you get a deduction for your mortgages?? That would be sooooo sweet...
argon345 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I too was counting on a nice refund to help support my habit..i mean hobby...but when i went through the motions turns out i owe a few hundred this time around?? I think need to go back through and try again...there are some new releases coming up i would like to get my hands on:-)
SeanGAR Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 » Damn that IRS! How dare they disrupt my cigar purchases? Has this ever » happened to anyone else? :-( » I just got a big fat refund check for $37.50. I don't know what to do with all the money ....... couple of singles? Hahaha.
sleeper Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I would crap myself if I thought I would get a refund. Pay, pay, pay! Atleast I am paying $7500 less oop this year, so I am happy about that. And it definitely cuts into cigar buying!
cigardawg Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 » If expenses at CZ were tax dedutable, I would have made out like a bandit. Just take out a HELOC on your house and use the money to pay for your cigars. Then, pay back the HELOC on a monthly basis. That way, your cigar purchases will be tax deductible. I'm just getting hit for around $300. First time I've ever had to pay.
Mel Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 To those blokes getting refunds, don't act to smug. ;-) The IRS is only giving your money back to you that they did not deserve in the first place. They have been using your money, interest free which no other institution can legally do. Try turning it around and see if they don't tack on penalties and interest. I am changing my political affiliation from Republican to Anarchist. Where do I send my financial contribution?:-D
Elric Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I got a $5K hit from the feds and almost $2K to state. AMT is killing me this year.

Loki Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I knew that Mel. But with 2 incomes and no kids I don't have much to write off. It's also a plus having a buddy who is a CPA.
