El Presidente Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Can't be a long time to go before NFL season kicks off. I am a Bucs fan. Have been since 78 (the ugliest uniform in professional sport and from memory a winless season got me hooked). Mind you I am also a Manchester City Fan and Osasuna (Spanish Soccer) fan. Notice the correlation? Yes all were perennial underdogs and losers before the Bucs went and ruined it Caught a Dolphins/Bucs pre-season game at RJ Stadium in Tampa just before the Tampa RTDA. Hope to see a Bucs V Cheese Heads game with Dave one of these days. Anyway...a callout. Which team do you support. I need to know now so I can start thinking about my football season cigar wagers ;-)
Ken Gargett Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 GO SKINS! lived in dc for a year in another life and loved the place. got to a skins dallas game (the year dallas came about stone motherless last - yes, where they belong) at RFK (so cold that the cheerleaders were wearing 15 layers of clothes). skins one of their few victims that year. add the glorious gunners (and to any misguided and sad buggers following man u - tough, we deserved that cup), the reds (qld rugby for those that don't know), the lions (afl) and the broncos (not denver) and that just about covers it.
1f1fan Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I was born and raised a Redskins fan. I went to the last game at RFK where the skins beat the cowboys and everyone ran on the field after the game ripping up chuncks of sod from both end zones.....ripping up their seats (one guy in front of me brough a cordless drill) what a great time! I don't really follow football like I used to...free agency and the fact the players act like a bunch of spoiled rich ex-gang members have really turned me off. Plus they are bad dancers....they should leave that to the cheerleaders :-D Give me the glitz, glamour, grid girls and technology of Formula One over that anyday....and do NOT expect me to place any wagers on the skins....I've learned that lesson the hard way.
Ken Gargett Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 perhaps this should now be a cigar and skins forum!
Tampa1257 Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Rob, Glad to know that I am in good company with being a Buc's Fan. I even have the Tattoo to prove it! Been watching them through the good and bad years and no matter what, they are my team.
harwellplant Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 tennessee titan season ticket holder. also follow the indianapolis colts to see my man peyton manning do well.
idesign Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I'm from Oregon, which sadly, doesn't have a football team. Soooooo........GO LIONS! I was a huge Barry Sanders fan growing up which, in turn, made me a Lions fan. I believe we have an outside chance of making the playoffs this year, but then again, don't all fans think their teams have a chance. I'm going to Chicago this year to visit a college buddy and go to the Bears / Lions game in which I went last year as well. The Lions tore em up and will surely do it again this year. Poor Bears fans.....:-P :-P
rumrogue Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Ah! Got it.......No Fuggin' Lid. Must be fakes! :-D :-D :-D

habanablue Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 About 4 years ago I was visiting a mate who attended the University of Tampa. I stayed with him for two weeks and had a crazy time at 'frat parties' I even went to Ybor City a couple of times (unfortunately before I had immersed myself into cigars) so the Bucs are my team as well... not that I know much about them now...or any other NFL team for that matter!
El Presidente Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Seriously Skindiver...Collingwood? Without doubt the most despised Aussie Rules team in Australia. I have been to one Collingwood Aussie Rules match as was pelted with abuse from toothless scarved morons...and that was the women. They make the Oakland Raiders fans look like Harvard graduates. I admire the Colts and am a big fan of TD their coach. The Bucs could use him back to re-build some commeraderie. Let the games begin!

puros71 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Go Raiiiiders! I grew up in Santa Rosa California and in the 70' and 80's the training camp was held not far from my house. Great memories of all the neighborhood friends gettin on our bikes and going to watch them practice. I am 34 years old and the years when I would go was when the Oakland Raiders were Super Bowl Champs 3 times. Met the greats who are all now Hall of Famers, Marcus Allen, Ted Hendricks, Willie Brown, Jim Plunkett, John Matuzak, Gene Upshaw, Lester Hayes, Mike Haynes. But the person who had the most impact on myself and friends was the late great Lyle Alzado. Great guy who whould take time and chat with us over gatorade. I will always be a Raider fan por vida! This year will be great with the addition of Randy Moss. Try stopping him and Jerry Porter on the other WR position.

Yeah, Lyle was a character alright… one of the original ‘roid rage guys… and Moss, well he just plains suffers from optical rectalitis… can’t see a thing because his head is up his arse… what else would explain walking off to the locker room when your teams trying to pull out a come from behind win?!
smk819 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I have been a NY GIANTS fan through thick and mostly thin since 1956. Go Jints.
