Hanson0120 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Hello everyone, I just got married and will take a road trip honeymoon across the South of France in mid-July. We’ll start our self-drive journey in Marseille, then travel through Aix-en-Provence, Arles, Valensole, Grasse, Cannes, Nice, and finish in Monaco. I’m reaching out to ask for recommendations on reliable official Habanos authorised cigar shops along this route. I’m only looking for genuine Habanos Specialist (HS) or HP licensed retailers. My main goal is to source rare limited releases and well-stored vintage aged Cuban cigars. (Is it possible to get a box of new Bolivar France ER????) If any of you have visited trustworthy stores on this itinerary and can share store names, addresses or personal tips, I’d really appreciate it. Hoping to pick up some special sticks to commemorate our wedding! Thanks a lot in advance. 1
Ford2112 Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I have driven the south of France twice. As for cigar shops, that is tricky. I can tell you where to eat though! What region will you be as I have driven the Pyrenees, Dordogne, Gorges Du Tarn and Verdon regions, the Var, Provence and the Riviera. I found cigars out of Barbastro Spain and in Jaca. I would look into the larger cities like Aix or Avignon, Nice. 2
ha_banos Posted June 23 Posted June 23 I'm hoping I'm wrong. I'm expecting you to find stock is abysmal. Looking forward to finding out though! 2
Christophe Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Looks like fairly slim pickings, unfortunately. In fact, pretty much the whole of France seems like a huge black hole on the map of Habanos retail points. Maybe this isn't up-to-date. I know some of the shops on this map in Belgium no longer exist. Not sure if conversely, there are newer Habanos retailers that aren't on the map. 1

In France, you'll only find tobacco products in "Tabacs", our b&ms, some restaurants and lounges will have a decent selection they will have sourced from a tabac. You're gonna have a hard time finding Habanos Points and Habanos Specialists but there are very well known retailers referenced in that area, I'll post a list later. But given the CC situation here and if your main goal is to source rare limited releases and well-stored vintage aged Cuban cigars, maybe you should head to Switzerland instead, unfortunately 🥲🥲 2
JohnS Posted June 24 Posted June 24 What about Andorra (the small independent state on the border of France and Spain), dear friends? I remember that it had an abundance of special Habanos releases in the past. No doubt this has 'dried' up too? 1 1

Christophe Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Because John mentioned Andorra, Monaco came to mind, which is closer to your route. There's a Davidoff store there apparently, but online reviews are mixed. 1
Li Bai Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I remembered I had already answered that question in the last couple of years, here's the list: Nice: •Flamme et fumée 16 avenue Félix Faure Cannes: •Le Sandra 83 boulevard de la Croisette •La Civette Carlton 93 rue d'Antibes Saint-Tropez: •Au palais du cigare 7 quai de l'épi •La Régence 34 rue Georges Clémenceau Monaco: •Boutique Davidoff Galerie du Métropole 17 avenue des Spélugues •Café de Paris Place du casino •Le Khédive 9 boulevard Albert 1er •La Régence 28 avenue de la Costa Good luck mate 🤞🤞 And congratulations 🥳 2 2
griller Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Really enjoyed my 48 hrs in Marseilles in May 2023. Visited this store near Vieux-Port & picked up a half dozen different Cubans. Pricing was in line at the time, and the cigars were great. I'd definitely visit it again if I made a return visit. Cave à Cigares Tabac La Comète - 3 Cr Jean Ballard, 13001 Marseille, France 2
