Webbo Posted March 3 Posted March 3 I will be in Pittsburgh for a few days early May on business and would like to buy a box or 2 of Padron Maduros to bring back to the UK. Can anyone recommend a B&M that would sell them near the downtown? Any general tips for a drink/food and cigar would also be appreciated. Thanks.
BrightonCorgi Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Consider buying them online and shipping to the hotel in advance. 1
Ruggerpgh99 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Where in Pittsburgh will you be? Not sure if you know much about the city, but its not super easy to navigate, and one wrong turn can take you 30 minutes in the wrong direction. I have a few solid recommendations for the places I shop at, and could most likely find time to meet you for a smoke, but knowing what area of town you will be will make the suggestions for shops easier. @BrightonCorgi's suggestion is also a solid one, to ensure that you get the specific Padrons you are looking for. 1
Webbo Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 I will be staying downtown, near the Penguins arena. It would be great to meet for a smoke. Very kind of you to offer.
phlipp Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Most of my favorite shops are a little further away from downtown and unfortunately won’t be the easiest to get to. There are a few good shops in the downtown area though... Downtown: Blend by Davidoff North Side: (very close to downtown): Burn by Rocky Patel Those will be the closest to you. Both are great but are the highest priced shops in the area. Strip District: Leaf and Bean (also very close to downtown, great shop. South Side: Bloom, also close but further than the other ones. This place is like walking back in time 50 years. I like it but it’s an acquired taste. South Side: Drawing Room, this place is newer. It’s technically a private lounge but since it’s still new they often have public events but access will be hit or miss because of that. Close to the airport, away from downtown: Smoke Stack in Moon Township. Your best option like others have said is to order online mostly because of your options near downtown. if you do have access to transportation, some good options for Padrons would be Cigars International in Bridgeville (about 20 minutes south of downtown), Old Allegheny (also about 20 minutes from downtown), Smoker Friendly (several locations around the region it’s actually a smoke shop not just cigars but they do carry Padron. 2 1

That's really useful, many thanks! 1
Ruggerpgh99 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 @phlipp did a great breakdown of what is closer to the downtown area, so I won't step on his toes with those answers. Reach out to me closer to the time of your travels and I would love to meet you for a smoke and a chat. 1
Webbo Posted March 4 Author Posted March 4 Thanks @phlipp and @Ruggerpgh99, great info gents. As there is a conference the hotels are out of mind expensive, between the Joinery, the Marriott City Center and the Wyndham, would you have a preference?
Ruggerpgh99 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 The only hotel that I have stayed in downtown recently was the Industrialist. I enjoyed my night there after a wedding downtown. If I had to choose between the others, I would probably pick the Marriott.
ElLoboLoco Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Don’t think we all talk like them! Hah hah. My parents were yinzers. God love ‘em.
