This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world.

To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well!

Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor)   4-6 (Average to good)   7-10  (very good to excellent)  Use the Poll.

The Media Luna was introduced in 2019 as part of the brand’s 50th-anniversary celebration. This 50 × 115 mm (4½″) Petit Robusto started with a bang and quickly became a sales darling. Its flavour profile is all Trinidad DNA: cedar, floral aromas, honey sweetness, nuts, spice all wrapped in a medium bodied bakery spine.

Now the Petit Robusto is a vitola that can be divisive among cigar lovers. I mean...why not just enjoy a Robusto? Still, this is an excellent blend and the Media Luna (Half Moon in Spanish) kicked arse in terms of sales. Then of course came 2022 "Cigarmageddon" and today's pricing is around 115% above it's 2019 pricing. This kicked the bejesus out of Media Luna sales internationally albeit they appear to have recovered somewhat on the back of the Habanos marketing relaunch of the marque in 2024/25.

I think it is a very good cigar but for the money there are cigars that represent better value for a similar enjoyment utility.

One of my favorites. Would be a regular cigar if priced like the rest of the marcas, but alas I really think twice any time I want to pull one out now so I don’t burn through my stash.

The Media Luna is a great blend, I just don't love the Petit Robusto format. I am a huge fan of the Marca... even if over-priced. Having said that, I'm right there with John when he writes, "cease this obstinance and admit defeat, Habanos S.A. The Trinidad marca is not in the same league as the Cohiba marca. Therefore, please adjust the pricing accordingly!"

These are winner cigars in all facets for me, bar one area. John has already nailed that one on the head above.
