Some options for getting around town. The double decker bus goes from Marina Hemingway to Playas del Este for $10/all day use. It's normally 9-5 and stops at the major points of interest every 30 minutes or so. If there isn't a stop for where you want to go along the route, I'm sure if you throw the driver a couple dollars he'll help you out. The yellow government run taxis are still operating. The airport rate was $25 but some have bumped it up to $30. Those drivers are getting gas but only 20 liters at a time at a subsidized rate. They have to register to different gas stations all around town, are given a # and wait for a message to pick up their 20 liters. So, in-between customers they are getting gas. There are also some Uber type services that provide drivers up until midnight. Their rates are 4-5 times of what they were before 2/7/26. If you rent a car they have limited it to 50 liters/day and there are no lines at $1.30/liter. So there is gas just not for the locals. John

Air Europa just announced it will add a technical fuel stop in Santo Domingo, DR. In a past life, I managed two airports for 16 years, and one of my responsibilities was filing NOTAMs. A 2–4 week

Have been hearing that there will be an announcement "tomorrow" from various 'well informed' sources for at least the last three days. It may be a misunderstanding between the literal translation vs C

Two military ships from Mexico rolled in with "humanitarian supplies" recently. Supposedly with food and hygiene products. I would be willing to bet that some crude was on those ships and that the toilet paper and body wash is just window dressing.
