I’m not even sure what they call themselves...the Sacramento A’s? And they’ve got the stadium to prove it! They at least have an excuse. 1
riderpride Posted March 30 Posted March 30 We're a series into the season - how's everyone feeling so far? Okomoto seems to have settled in and Cease is looking like he's exactly what was expected. We'll see Ponce tonight. Little did a lot of work in the offseaon after a poor fall, but his vibe and performance aren't good thus far. To be fair, Schneider brought him in on Saturday under less than ideal circumstances with 2 on after Fluharty needed out after taking 2 come-backers to his right leg. Little doesn't need the extra pressure and ended up giving up a Grand Slam to the surprise of no one. He'll need a change of scenery soon, and the return of Bieber, Berrios, and Yesavage will help him out. The jury is still out on Hoffman, but my fingers are crossed. Cheers! 3
CuriousObserver Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Currently watch my Angels get crushed. I can't stand Arte. 1
JohnS Posted March 31 Posted March 31 When Ruhollah Khomeini returned to Iran in 1979, after more than 14 years in exile, he was asked by journalist Peter Jennings how he felt about being back in Iran. His answer? "Nothing". As a Mets fan, I wouldn't say that I am feeling quite the same way; however, I am rather rather nonplussed about how things are faring in the first month of the season. Ask me (how I will feel) when the injuries to key players come along, or when losses pile up leading into the All-Star break and I will have a better gauge of things then. 1

Capn_Jackson Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Rangers are tied for the best record in all of baseball!! Now, only 150-something more to go…
MoeFOH Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 When Rob was looking for the s***tiest team in Baseball to follow, I can't believe I didn't recommend the Red Sox. 🤦♂️ 2 1

That’s why there are 162 games, fun to see who gets hot at the right time. 1
Ford2112 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I follow my team on Instagram. When we win a game we are winning the World Series and have the best team in baseball, the manager is the best, yada yada. When we lose a game fire the manager, our pitchers suck, we are gonna lose 90 games. Evidently these young fans haven't suffered enough! It's a long season. 1

gormag38 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Things have been feast or famine in the D. My Tigers have put up a lot of runs in some games...and then in others have resembled the same 'hitting challenged' team that we saw at the end of last season. The rookie out McGonigle had a tremendous first game and has had some moments since then and moved up the batting order. So far he has passed the eye test. Long season though...
JohnS Posted April 6 Posted April 6 On 4/6/2026 at 3:51 PM, Ford2112 said: Either the Mets are really good or my team is utter trash 🤣 Neither, trust me. The Mets are playing differently this year because they forced their players to be more competitive for starts by 'rebooting' their team after what happened last year (it wasn't quite a rebuild). If you think about it, it was a courageous thing to do. Right now, they have some players who are super 'hot', but who have been 'quiet' in previous seasons (i.e. Mark Vientos and Luis Robert Jr.) and others who aren't in-form but will get better (i.e Francis Lindor and Bo Bichette). It still doesn't guarantee winning the NL East division or even making the postseason. But at least they're more competitive in games, thus far, than they were after the All-Star Game last year. P.S. I just noticed that Juan Soto is going to miss two to three weeks on the IL due to a minor calf strain picked up in Friday's game against the SF Giants. So, this will no doubt create opportunities for some bench/utility players to 'chalk up' some game time.
Ford2112 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 The Mets have an offensively lineup that can be troublesome. I think the pitching looked pretty good to me.
JohnS Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Yes, I would agree with you Rob about the Mets' pitching. In regards to the Giants' last few games, they've suffered two losses in a row whereby they were leading both games going into the 7th inning. Yes, that is very frustrating for fans (an as a baseball fan I feel I've been there), but this is very fixable. If you're a Giants fan, hang in there. It's still early days. Adrian Houser pitched well today until he allowed two singles to kickstart the Phillies comeback, unfortunately.
Joeyjojo Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Due to time zone difference, I woke up and saw the Dodgers/Jays score 😭 Kinda glad I didn't have to sit through three hours of being reamed!
mikejh Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Reds are off to a great start, need to win as many games early in the season as possible, their September schedule is brutal.
Capn_Jackson Posted April 8 Posted April 8 I don’t think the Rangers are leading in any stat whatsoever, but relief pitcher Jacob Latz is solid so far. Lots of reason to hope there. Joe Nathan I think was the last time I felt good about a Rangers closer. I’m not saying Latz can be that, just that he’s showing good stuff right now. Might find himself in a closing role soon.
JohnS Posted April 8 Posted April 8 It's interesting to see how many teams are around .500 at this point early in the season. It goes to show just how difficult it is in the majors to secure wins. The main thing to look at for your team that you follow, in my view, is the run differential statistic. This statistic measures how many runs your team has scored against how many they have allowed. The more runs scored against the runs allowed indicates that your team is on the right track.
MoeFOH Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 After an atrocious start, the Red Sox have pulled it back to a lovely 4-8 record... Just 4 more straight wins to get to 500 ball! 1
Ford2112 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Giants pulled out a couple nice wins back to back against the Phillies. Looks like the bats are starting to wake up. Good pitching from Ray and Mahle.
