Who has come across a Cohiba Ambar in the wild?

According to Habanos S.A., which owns and distributes all Cuban cigars globally, Cohiba is special for two primary reasons. Firstly, the tobacco comes from Cuba’s top five farms, dubbed “the selection of the selection.” Secondly, some of the filler is put through an additional fermentation in barrels, a step that most other Cuban tobacco does not undergo.

Danilo gave me a few the last time we visited the El Laguito factory, and I managed to get a box when they officially released them last year. Great cigars. Cohiba flavors all the way. Vanilla and grassy, but I thought the citrus twang really stood out in these.

Curious to hear more about these ‘top 5 farms’ the ‘selection of the selection’. I wonder if Hector’s farm is amongst them for example. I have a few of his farm rolls sitting away somewhere. I'm not overly clued up on the top farms, would be keen to hear more about them.

Not yet, only because I haven’t come across any singles yet to try before I go for a box. I’m intrigued enough by everything I’ve read since their launch that I may go blind buy eventually, if the price is right

Never seen one in the wild but have been fortunate to acquire a few from friends. They are among the best young Cohibas I’ve smoked. I like them much better than the Novedosos which is a preferred size for me.

Had one box, really good cigar, Habanos in CA TOP 25 this year are real deal so far.
