El Presidente Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Love the vid. So melodramatic! The cigar version of "The Bold and the Beautiful". The video shows that first shipment of Cameroon tobacco, and includes a personal message from company leader Carlos Fuente Jr. to his customers. You can view the video below. FULL ARTICLE 4

El Hoze Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Man, I laughed out loud watching that. If there was any question whether there was any animosity between Meerapfels and Fuentes there is your answer. My wife is Dominican, I joke all the time that Dominicans love to (1) dramatize everything to outrageous levels and (2) bring in the legacy of “la familia” to just bring the emotion to levels you couldn’t without doing so. Extra points if you can involve a conversation that happened on a death bed. “We’re having chicken AGAIN for dinner? On my father’s DEATH BED he looked me in the eye and told me, never more than twice a week!” My wife actually grew up with the Fuente family. I have gotten to know Carlito reasonably well, mostly running into him flying in/out of MIA airport. Extremely generous and personable guy. She will get a kick out of this. 4
Dr vonPuffenberg Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 All drama aside, I'm glad to hear the news. I really do enjoy their Cameroon cigars and would be quite bummed if they weren't available or doubled in price. 2
ha_banos Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I'm curious about the gossip. People cannot shut up something must leak out soon. Clearly they are far from the only Cameroon growers or controllers. Someone has enough supply for Fuente and they are 10M cigars a year producers. What is it about Cameron wrappers anyway...? 1

They are naturally shade grown smaller leaf tobacco due to cloud cover and a forest canopy I believe. I for one really enjoy the Fuente Cameroon cigars. They have this sweet spiced nutty flavor to me and the best examples are memorable. 6

I personally think Cameroon leaf improves the Fuente blends. I’m not a big fan of the typical Fuente offerings, and think the Opus X blends (which can be very good) are usually over-rated or over-peppery. My favorite Fuentes are the Don Carlos and the Hemingways. Both lines use Cameroon leaf and are fantastic daily cigars. * Edited to include...I'm very curious to see if/how the change in supplier will impact their blends. 3

My only other experience, I didn't like so much, is the Aladino Cameron Robusto. Thanks. 1

Fuente and Meeriphfel blend it best, but Fuente does it at a fraction of what Meeriphfel charge.
ElLoboLoco Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I recall reading that Cameroon was the preferred wrapper after the embargo, makers thought it most closely matched the Cuban wrappers at that time. I think I read that in an old JR Cigars catalog that Lew Rothman wrote back in the 90’s.
Hoosh Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 Cameroon aside, don’t sleep on the new Sangre de Toro cigars that use the San Andres wrapper… 2
ElLoboLoco Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 I think the Aladino Cameroon is actually grown in Honduras. 1
TheCigarSoldier Posted November 12, 2025 Posted November 12, 2025 Is it me or did he look like he was on the verge of crying lol. Odd video..
