What's up for the weekend?

Swanky dinner tonight at Essa so I took the opportunity to book a swanky room at Hotel X around the corner. I love Hotel X as it is boutique "great quirky", has a great restaurant downstairs (Bisou Bisou) and a rooftop bar that encourages cigar smokers. I had my 60th there as well as a pre wedding event. Negroni or two and a 109 this afternoon. 

Back home Sunday lunch and in time for the Tonga V Samoa Rugby League international being played at our Suncorp Stadium. Sold out 52K insane islander crowd.

This is an example of the "pre game warmup" by the teams. It's a must watch

Sounds like a blast  - I love a good rugby match!

Daughter is living at the stables again this weekend, but the boy and I were able to take in a local Wrastlin match along with some members of his football team and some dads. His coach is friends with one of the top stars on the circuit, so he got us some pretty sweet seats,  though there weren't any bad ones as capacity was ~200. The boys had an absolute blast and had a lot of interactions with the performers. We've had it planned for months, so I had to pvr game 1 of the WS but it was worth it to see the boys' reactions.

I'm going to catch a flight to Bordeaux from Lyon. I'm hoping to spend a few days enjoying this city in south-west France, especially the visit to its famous wine museum, the Cité du Vin.

Edit: The Cité du Vin Museum is incredible. What an amazing place!

Watch the Jays game Friday and Saturday then pack-up and head out to the hills for a week of deer/elk hunting. Looking forward to fresh air, exercise and some good laughs with terrific people. Not sure i will be able to watch games 3-5, so really hoping for a game six.

Albeit it has been more than just this weekend. But been leveling an area to make a paver patio/put up a shed. This weekend I put up the shed. Which of course I never took a picture of! 

Had to start by moving some clay that even the skid steer had trouble with at times.

10X10 base for a shed then another 10X10 area for pavers. LOTS of paver base and trips to the store!

Laid the pavers but had a couple break. Luckily I ordered more than I needed. Suckers are HEAVY at about 90 lbs each!
