Popular Post JohnS Posted September 14, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2025 Two interesting videos from late last month highlighting what not to do when bringing cigars out of Cuba nowadays. I thought it would be interesting to share... Initial video (N.B. Not embedded): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tla6B4XiHjE Follow-up video: 5 1
Coloniales Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Allowing him to keep farm rolls in the Melia Habana, FFS. They had enough issues over the years with beetles, and no air-conditioning! 1
ATGroom Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 If next year is like the last couple of years then I don't think he'll have much luck with the "go the week before the Festival strategy." There are plenty of people around with the same idea. What little stock has arrived in stores has been dribbled out during the week of the Festival (and most of it still gets snapped up by people who have had the foresight to bribe the clerk or have had a Cuban fixer make a deal). There are always plenty of cheap farm rolls, custom rolls, and "my cousin works at El Laguito" rolls around. The idea of bringing 300+ of them back to Australia in my baggage is making me sweat just thinking about it. If you were to declare that amount you would be looking at $10,000 AUD+ in duty. If you didn't declare and were caught I think you'd probably get a similar size fine and lose the cigars. 4
