The last time I did this was after drinking with Hamlet at the Nacional hotel in Havana until 7am. He insisted I go back to his house and explain to his then wife, that the session was all my fault. Jesus, I can still remember knocking on the door…..hearing the swearing …..the reaching for the pots/pans and knife…..the door opened and there she was with a full face of fury that changed abruptly when she saw me ….Hamlet tail between his legs behind…the face changed to disdain. Coffee was served and our punishment was to take Hamelito (7 at the time) to school. We were forced to take a taxi as we weren’t at out best. How hard could this be?.....Let me tell you.
