Popular Post JohnS Posted April 30 Popular Post Posted April 30 April 29, 2025 - Patrick Lagreid Saint Luis Rey Adamastor Goes on Sale in Portugal Cigar retailers in Portugal have a brand new Edición Regional on their shelves, as the Saint Luis Rey Adamstor has gone on sale in recent days. The cigar is offered in the laguito especial vitola, a lancero that measures 192mm (7 9/16 inches) x 40, a size shared with the Trinidad Fundadores and the Diplomáticos Grandes ER Alemania, which came out in March 2024. EMPOR S.A., the importer of Habanos S.A. products for Portugal, calls it a full-strength cigar. Production is limited to 10,000 individually numbered boxes of 10 cigars. Pricing is set at €250 ($284.54) per box of 10 cigars, which works out to €25 ($28.45) per cigar. The Saint Luis Rey Adamastor is named for the mythical figure of Adamastor, created by the Portuguese poet Luís de Camõesin in his epic poem “Os Lusíadas,” which was first printed in 1572. Adamastor symbolizes the trials faced by Portuguese navigators and “represents the untameable spirit that is echoed in the character of these Habanos,” a press release said. To add to the release, a painting was commissioned and is featured with each box of cigars, which includes a printed insert and a QR code that links to a short video in which the artist, who has not been disclosed, shares his interpretation of the artwork. As part of the release, the company has also released a project called Habanos Vintage — The EMPOR Collection. It is a wooden humidor that includes a box of each of the last four Edición Regional releases for Portugal. While the cigars themselves have long been sold out, EMPOR reserved some of the boxes to age them for eventual release. El Rey del Mundo Templários – 2021 San Cristobal de la Habana Saudade – 2020 Bolívar Lusíadas – 2017 Juan Lopez Chiado – 2014 Production is limited to 200 humidors, with pricing set at €2,800 ($3,185.76). Once the included cigars have been removed, the humidor can hold up to 200 cigars. Images courtesy of EMPOR S.A. yossie Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Adamastor comes in 10-count boxes and retails for 25 euros each (about $27.80). That works out to 250 euros per box, or approximately $278. I feel ER cigars prices are same or lower than regular ones. I was thinking ER cigars were very pricey in a decade ago. 1

El Presidente Posted May 13 Posted May 13 If I was to pump some coin on a punt... on a Regional, and I could find it at this price? No brainer 4
CaptainQuintero Posted May 13 Posted May 13 That sounds delicious! Hopefully it flies so more regional distributors are encouraged to try.
Ruggerpgh99 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 This feels like something that would be right up my alley, at that price, but aftermarket, not so much.
ChanceSchmerr Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Finally, I'll get the RE I've always wanted (Long Skinny in my favorite marca, SLR). Too bad I'll never find it in a Portuguese B&M.
