Rio Grande, Argentina - March, 2025

Just finished my first trip to Kau Tapen Lodge in Tierra del Fuego for sea-run browns. We had a great group from the U.S., U.K., and Argentina. It was an amazing place and I’m happy to answer any questions if you’re curious about a trip down there. Plenty of fish, great food, good wine and a few cigars to cap off every day.  😉

It was! Very different from a typical steelhead or salmon trip. Getting to spend a few days in Buenos Aires and Ushuaia was an added bonus.

Its a huge bucket list trip for me and a couple buddies. I would want to swing spoons instead of fly fishing. Behemoth sea runs down there!

Looks like an incredible trip. Been to Argentina several times but never fished while there. I’ll definitely be checking this place out. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a world traveled fisherman really. I think Steelhead in the Northwest is the ultimate. Alaska is on my list . But I have fished in Mexico, and Canada is on my list. I did find nice trout in France on a little stream. I wish I'd had a rod. Was probably illegal anyway! 😂

Yeah, British Columbia has some amazing Steelhead fishing. Alaska, yes indeed. South Island of NZ is phenomenal as well. I hear Slovenia is really good as well. And of course Patagonia. I’ve spent a lot of time in France, but never fished in France.
