chasy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 As a die hard Federer fan, I’ve learned the hard way to never underestimate Djokovic. Now that Fed’s been retired a few years, I find myself rooting for Djokovic. I won't count him out regardless of who he has to face. His mental toughness is unmatched maybe in any sport, in any era. Agreed regarding Sinner. I actually think he seems like a decent guy and has an incredible game. But the two failed doping tests, the excuses and the provided explanation. None of that works for me. Shame on tennis for sweeping that under the rug for the sake of promoting the next star. 3

Agreed again, though I've seen fighters like Benny Urquidez come back from the dead like it was nothing, I can't compare 🤔 1

chasy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Never got the whole “Big Four.” First, Andy Murray isn’t remotely close to Nadal, Federer and Djokovic. Secondly, Wawrinka was (is) arguably better than Murray. They both have 3 majors.
Wookie Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 A bit predictable at his age, he probably spent himself on Alcaraz.

I was actually wondering if he would play today after that. At the end of the first set I think he knew I am done physically. Plenty of commentary on him withdrawing from McEnroe and even his wife was surprised he withdrew. If anyone looked at footage of him several hours after the match he only had one leg under him. He has fort tooth and nail with injuries and won matches. The guy has fire in his heart. Alexander Zverev what a post match speech, amazing. What a shame a significant portion of the crowd were booing Novak as he left the stadium. A complete lack of class. Embarrassing. 2
BrightonCorgi Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Was amazed to see how few spectators were in attendance for the mixed doubles final. Not even 15% full in the grandstands. 1
JohnS Posted January 24 Posted January 24 It's highly commendable for Djokovic to be that competitive in professional tennis at that age. Quite amazing really. 2
