I hope Jemma is weaving her magic in the corridors of power. Unfortunately I suspect it will be harder under a Labour govt.

"While there was chatter that cigars could receive favorable treatment from the Conservatives—to be clear, nothing ever came of this—the European Cigar Manufacturers Association (ECMA) told halfwheel that it does not believe there are any exemptions for cigars. In fact, a press release explicitly mentions cigars regarding plain packaging."

A couple of points on this

- This was Rishi Sunak's legacy bill

- It's customary for incoming governments to support legacy bills....if they don't find them to be egregious

- Rishi Sunak wanted to end smoking, because he doesn't want an NHS, and is a teetotal health freak

- Starmer may want to end smoking, because the NHS is under unbelievable strain and if the numbers add up, he may feel like he has little choice

- If Boris Johnson hadn't of removed Ken Clark (to force his half arsed Brexit deal through) smokers would still have a very powerful champion inside Westminster

- Starmer Is a pragmatist, and a patriot. If he feels as if he can stop young people smoking cigarettes/relieve the burden on the NHS, whilst not throwing 200 yrs of rich cigar merchant heritage and business down the toilet, he will do

- If anyone can resist Jemma's charms, they should be arrested for being robot. or terminally dead inside.
