unaslob Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 I present this lovely 5 year aged Salomon for my first review. Certainly a uniquely shaped cigar that provides a different smoking experience than its straighter cousins. Stored 62:62 dry boxed one day. Well constructed with a smooth Colorado claro shade to the wrapper. Choose a vcut. Dry draw easy with floral notes and a hint of cedar. Floral notes with hint of hay on initial light. As it burns to the thicker part the intensity revs up to Mexican cocca and cedar notes. Towards the middle the cocca gives way to more wood/cedar with hints of salt and spice. The intensity turns down as you burn through the taper. Smoke production was quite voluminous. Last third the cedar gives way to some more baking spice almost vanilla toast. Burn throughout was relatively smooth with occasional touch up needed. Took me about an hour to finish. Nicotine content was medium+ It’s harder to find now but glad I have made some investments in this particular marca. I plan to continue to age these but if you have ‘em, smoke ‘em. Paired with root beer this evening. This should be an easy guess for this group as the shape is not common. But tomorrow’s will be a bit more fun! Enjoy! 3
