I know, I know...there's already lighters out there on the market that can produce a soft flame and a single torch flame by manipulating a flame adjustment wheel or handle. Heck, I've got one. But this lighter from Vertigo eliminates the need for any adjustment.

VERTIGO RELEASES DOUBLE AGENT LIGHTER

AUGUST 7, 2024 - PATRICK LAGREID

A new lighter from Vertigo is promising to do double duty, as the Double Agent offers both a single flame torch and a soft flame in the same accessory.

The Double Agent has a metal housing and measures 2.875 x 1.625 x .625 inches, making it a pocket-friendly option. The lighter uses two separate single-action ignition systems, with engraved markings showing which ignition will produce which flame. There are also separate flame adjusters to dial in the size of each flame. A window on the backside of the lighter shows how much butane is left in the lighter’s tank.

Pricing is set at $29.99, and each lighter comes with a protective carrying pouch. It is available in black or gunmetal.

What are people's experiences with the long-term reliability of single jet Vertigos?

6-12 months.

I have had more luck with Vector. However even there, I have found that what they have produced over the last 5 years is way below the quality of the early 2000's.

Not great. Probably similar to Pres above - had one die after half year of sporadic use.

In parallel - I’ve had one of these guys for near on six years now and it’s never put a foot wrong (not a looker mind you - but it’s pretty bloody reliable).

No experience with the single flame, but I believe all Vertigos have lifetime warranties if you register them. Never registered any of mine, I only have the triple flames and my original is 6 years old and still works.
